Very weird experience today


So I am in VA this week for my job. I went to this BBQ restaurant for lunch. In the middle of eating someone gets on the intercom and says something. At the time, it was so loud in there that I didn’t clearly understand what he said. Next thing I know, the national anthem is playing and everyone is standing up looking up at the Flag with their hands over their hearts. I felt like I was in a dystopian society or something.

DUmpmonkiez should feel out of place around common decent folk.

10. Well it is near a naval base and caters to the military crowd. But still.

In movie theaters on military bases they play the National Anthem before the movie. Everyone stands up there too.

Had to be something... "et al / et alia" seemed to be slipping in popularity over there so it only makes sense that the one DUmpass without a limited vocabulary sets the trends for them all. They have a need to be viewed as sooper-dooper smart, it's part of their acceptance flaws.

1. You work at the VA
2. The VA is for veterans of the military
3. Families that bring patients to the VA understand their vets sacrifice for their country
4. Families also get hungry
5. Local food joints sell food to these families
6. Local food joints are going to cater to their clientele, which are not liberal... meaning they are patriotic
7. Which means they are not going to have MSNBC on the tube, and will at times play the USA national anthem on the PA
8. It works because every one stood, and I assume the place was packed
9. This means money for the owner and jobs for the employees
10. And taxes for the local government
11. Which apparently you are too damned dumb to understand

**** off and die. If I ever find out which VA you work at, I will make sure the admin of said VA sees your post. I would hazard a guess that you will be soon unemployed.

I'm grey headed now so my memory is not what it used to be. With that said, I could have sworn that during W's time in office I remember that the DUmp was in an uproar because so many poor black people HAD to join the military to advance in life and that put so many black people fighting the white man's wars (Iraq and Afghanistan). I'm pretty sure it is using "VA" to mean Virginia, rather than Veterans Administration.  Of course, this still could have been close to, say, Norfolk and then there would still be lots of military around.

One way or the other, this bouncy didn't actually happen anyway, so it's all moot.

I am guilty of stereotyping someone like you. Last month, my family and I were at a Zaxby's in Ocala, Fl (trump country). A 50+ year old white couple sat in the booth next to ours. I immediately thought trump supporters.

They told us how cute our daughters were. And I said thank you, but still thinking that they were hardcore conservatives.

As we were eating we were making small talk. Near the end, the lady told us to remember to vote. And the man said that with a YES! That is when I was like "hold on, could they be"

Then they went off on Trump, the republicans, and the Ocala residents. They talked about how much they loved President Obama and Hillary.

By the way, I am currently in the Air Force.
