Andrea Mitchell just said McCain probably knew the questions ahead of time.

She's commenting on his short, quick answers and says it's the only way he could have done that.

Either he was provided them, or was LISTENING to Obama's segment offstage - heard the questions and Obama's answers.

1. Of course he knew the questions before he started
I watched all of 5 minutes and it was plain to see that he knew the
questions and had answers ready.

10. But sadly less than 5% of America will know that he cheated
I would pay good money for a reporter to ask John McCain if he
knew the question before hand.

It was so clear that he knew the questions first that it was a joke.

21. He wouldn't answer truthfully anyway- no matter who asked -
so save your money and donate to Obama and instead, let's write LITE mentioning that it was clear that McCain had seen the questions in advance.

  • Make America Great Again. Deport some DUmmies.
The forum doesn't play into their image of McCain - a doddering old fool on the edge of Alzheimers -- and it scares them. Therefore, he had to 'cheat' to win. Just like when the conservative wins an election, it was 'fixed'

Everybody knew that this sort of debate doesn't work for Obama going in - He needs a script.. And now they are surprised that it turned out exactly as it had been predicted it would for at least a year ?

Face it DUmmies - your guy was pwn3d, and all the "thoughtful answers" Vs "soundbites" nuance you are trying to manufacture isn't going to do anything but reinforce your bruised egos.

The sad thing for the democrats is that both candidates had been given an outline with possible subjects and the Obama Hussein character still managed to look like an idiot.

John McCain didn't cheat.  He is just smarter, more politically in tune, and confident.

Oh for gosh sakes, anyone who doesn`t think either campign spent hours trying to have the answer to any possible question posed is an idiot.
If they didn`t do that then the campaign staff are the idiots.

It would seem from this that they know Obama didn`t do so well so now are falling back on childish excuses.

So if Obama "wins," it's because he's the better, smarter, more suited candidate.

If he "loses," it's because the other side cheats.

And there's NO other explanation?

God alone suffices.

6. He was not listening to the segment off stage. McCain cannot think that fast.

Now we know what he was doing when he limited media access. Practicing his answers around the clock.

The irony of this statement coming from a hussein supporter is breathtaking.

Ok... Let's assume for a minute that McCain had the questions beforehand. That still doesn't excuse the fact Obama did not provide ONE single answer of substance for any of the questions asked. These questions were personal questions about themselves, their positions, character and ability to lead - not questions that required 25 years of political experience - although that no doubt helps.

I loved this format. I loved the fact that they couldn't rebut each other. My only criticism is that the question was not phrased exactly the same for both candidates.

I regret that too.  Why leave room to nitpick?  It would have been very sinple to read the same questions to each candidate without differentials.

We can't have the bottom of the Naval Academy beating an Ivy League graduate. It just won't do.

Sorry I am out of the loop here. Was this a debate or just an interview for each candidate? Any links?

Independent interviews in a public forum about religion.

Here's what Chuck Todd of MSNBC had to say about it.

Quote
MCCAIN'S BACK IN THE SADDLEBACK

From NBC's Chuck Todd
Normally, on a night like tonight, we here at First Read would have been liveblogging every moment of Rick Warren's presidential forum. But with the Olympics and the fact this is THE Saturday Michael Phelps will be making history, we kept our liveblogging in check.

It turns out, actually, we should have been because this was a pretty good scrimmage and there's a lot to learn from these back-to-back appearances by John McCain and Barack Obama.

Quick first impressions: Obama spent more time trying to impress Warren (or to put another away) not offend Warren while McCain seemingly ignored Warren and decided he was talking to folks watching on TV. The McCain way of handling this forum is usually the winning way. Obama may have had more authentic moments but McCain was impressively on message.

This was a mistake Obama made a few times during the primary season. On one hand, it can make a moderator feel good when their subject actually tries to answer every question and take into account their opinions on a particular topic. And Obama's supporters will email me tonight and say this is what they love about him.

The rest is at:

Even MSNBC realizes that the shine is off the Obamessiah.  :loser:
