Didn't there use to be an ignore option? It would be nice to be able to put him/them on ignore and not have to mark their threads as "read" all the time.

yea I tried that one time but all it does is still take up a lot of page space with a message like "YOU ARE IGNORING THIS PERSON" or something like that instead of disappearing them.
All that does for me is say "this person is trolling you again and you can't see what it is". Not the desired effect.. hehe

That would make this forum seem 90% empty. It's all but unusable and the Breaking news is trending that way.

The spammers make it hard to sift through their crap. I try and find posts by other regulars and only reply to them.

H2BM does occasionally post stories worth a reply, and I occasionally do. Beyond that I look at the thread starters in the forum index and focus on threads by other people.

The Politics forum has also become farmer-infested. He reminds me of a Jehovah's witness serial-pest spamster-with-a-cause who popped up and off a couple years ago on RO, "Truth is Reality". Her MO was to spam forums with were stuff, not engage in meaningful discussion, and when Moderators tried to encourage discussion (I'm not using the phrase euphemistically, where RO is concerned) start playing the Victim Card. She kept spamming and playing victim until forum Mods banned her. Instead of (or in addition to) going door-to-door, she went discussion forum to discussion forum. I suspect farmer does the same.

Your right about H2BM I guess. Something just rubbed me the wrong way the day this thread was started. As for farmer, I've seen stuff like that in disqus. He's definitely a troll of a sort. I wouldn't be surprised to see him pop up in CU eventually. Same MO maybe with a different name.

Happy2BeMe, after initially pissing off a lot of people, has since proven himself a worthwhile member here.  Even though some of his stuff is junk, for the most part it's well worth reading.

And as for Happy2BeMe answering his own original topics, there's no rule against it; as long as his replies have people keep coming back, which some of them do.

RO has changed owners, forum SW (yesterday), and their registration process, but until recently new members were reviewed by Mods before being approved. Checking IP addies was routine , and for the few where I checked IP info, being a proxy was an insta-delete "offense". As was being a multi-reg.

"Ignore" is for children. 

I just don't want to see dozens of threads from some ignoramus spammer.  I ignore just by, well, ignoring.

I think the "ignore" function on any BB is the electronic equivalent of putting your fingers in your ears and saying "nya nya nya I can't hear you!"

My opinion of H2BM's threads is somewhat lower than those of you who've chimed in.  It's always a link to a story somewhere else, generally on some totally unreliable source, like farmtard's, he just tends to include longer excerpts.  Once in a blue moon there is actually a smidgin of original writing, but not enough to make finding it worthwhile.  Anymore I just bypass threads he starts with extremely rare exceptions.
