BNN - Oil War Heats Up
« on: August 15, 2008, 05:25:33 PM »
Washington DC -15 Aug 2008 - Today the oil war on Capitol Hill entered a new phase when House democrats refused to allow a vote on whether or not to expand domestic oil drilling projects in the US and offshore. House GOP leaders were furious with the enactment of new parliamentarian procedures introduced by Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) formerly known as the "Nyah-Nyah-Nyah-I-Can't-Hear-You" Rule which was passed solely by voice vote before the lights and microphones were turned off and several representatives joined Sen. Kennedy down at O'Malley's to work on a compromise bill between olives and pearl onions.

"This is frustrating," said one GOP congressional aide. "We're trying to give the American people a straight up or down vote on comprehensive relief from higher fuel prices."

When asked why the House recess could not be delayed to allow for a vote democrat chief-of-staff Dustin Westlake responded, "We gave these neocons their war for oil and they have yet to produce. They toppled a sovereign dictatorship to rob it of its natural resources and so far we haven't seen squat! Five and a half years into their grand -employability scheme for minorities and the poor and they have diddly to show for it; so until we start seeing more Iraqi oil pouring into American gas tanks we're not going to give them so much as a gopher hole to tap."
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."
