He is one of the most powerful people in the world. He is coming to the meeting of 20 powerful countries. And he has a problem: no hotel room for the G20.

White House officials apparently waited too long to book accommodations for President Trump, leaving him without a hotel in Hamburg, Germany, as world leaders converge for the G20 summit.

Organizers announced the scheduled summit in February 2016, which requires 9,000 hotel rooms to accommodate world leaders, their sizable staffs, and security details.

The Hamburger Abendblatt, a local news outlet, reported that the US government wanted to accommodate Trump in the Four Seasons, but it was already booked. In fact, it turns out that every luxury hotel in Hamburg was reportedly booked by the time the Americans called, leaving Trump, who is associated with an empire of hotel properties, scrambling for a place to stay.

Several weeks ago there were even rumors Trump might have to sleep in Berlin and have to fly to Hamburg via helicopter.

As a general statement it could be said that the DUmmies are so far up Trumps * that they know all this stuff about the Presidents hotel situation and are having a gleeful time trying to express the typical incompetence of his staff. Of course they really don't know any thing about the situation but that's not going to stop them from commenting all the same.

If it were really true what the DUmmies are saying that there isn't a place for The President of the United States to stay at this summit, it actually says more about the host than the invitees.

I'm sure it's a very comfortable room, too, and would save the taxpayer's tons of money. What do you want to bet that the media covering his trip to the G20 has nice rooms that were booked long ago? That's what Trump gets for leaving so much of the White House unstaffed.

Would think that the hostess of the event would have more than her hands full keeping the 20K rampaging protesters rioters at bay rather than trying to one-up Trump which isn't going to happen anyway.

It's Buzzfeed, probably untrue. However it was worked out - if there even was a problem at all - I doubt Trump is sleeping on a hotel lobby couch or under an autobahn overpass.

It's fake news again.  The presidential accommodations are known weeks in advance.  Security advance team has been there a week or more.  There are no surprises.  The President and First Lady don't "pop in" anywhere.  I don't know how much more stupid and ridiculous all this absurd speculation and false reporting can get before the entire press industry collapses.  Barbara Cartland's output had a better grasp on reality.

Nosing around the Internet, it sounds like there was some less than timely work by WH staff. Whether the career-type staff or staff that changes with every President, I have not seen. So the untimely work might have been people who were carry-overs, or it might have been people Trump brought in.

Evidently, Trump is staying at a house used by the City (or State) of Hamburg. I doubt he's lacking for comforts, and security is probably better than at a hotel.

So, Trump and company, including a very large entourage, didn't arrange bookings early enough for the G20 summit in Hamburg. So, The Donald and his immediate staff was booked by the German government into one place, with the rest of the staff, etc. bunking up at the U.S. Consolate in Hamburg.

Meanwhile other nations have entire hotels at their disposal. That's the norm. That's what should have been arranged for our Fake POTUS. So, what happened? It's simple:

Donald Trump fired the entire White House Travel Office staff when he took office. Then, they waited quite a while before replacing that experienced staff who had arranged international travel for previous administrations. Somehow, stuff didn't get done and the ball for the G20 summit accommodations got dropped. So, who's running the White House Travel Office these days? Do they have tons and tons of experience in booking entire hotels? Well, I can only identify four people in that office:

Haidet, Michael B - Director of White House Travel Office - The Boss Man. Who is he? Well, he's a former Congressional Press Secretary for Rob Portman (R-OH). A press secretary. Not a travel coordinator. Not really a guy with tons of experience in such things.

Wasserstein, Rebecca L - Deputy Director of White House Travel Office - Most recently a Scheduler on the staff of Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL26). Now, she may have some travel booking experience, but I can't be sure of that.

Riddaugh, Andrew M - Travel Manager, White House Travel Office - Formerly Regional Political Director - Tampa Bay -Donald J. Trump for President - ‎Presidential Inaugural Committee. No idea what he knows about international bookings.

Pritchard, Bethany L - Travel Manager, White House Travel Office - Formerly, Executive Office of the President, Republican National Committee, 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee. Before that, Finance Assistant, Republican National Committee.

That's it, folks. Not a travel specialist in the group. Mostly party operatives who have been rewarded with a White House Job for favors done in the past.

Staff at eight of them confirmed that they were completely booked by the time America's 2016 election was held in early November. the other two declined to comment.

'The funny thing,' a second Trump White House official said Friday, 'is that the U.S. delegation probably also wouldn't have had hotel rooms if Hillary Clinton had become president. It was already too late by Election Day.'

'But I bet even if Hillary had to sleep in a youth hostel,' the official added, 'no one in the press would say it was her staff's fault.'

BTW, I should have recognized the likelihood of what the Daily Mail reported. For example:

* The Chicago Marathon, very popular among marathoners, will be run October 8th, 2017; the chances of a motel/hotel having a vacancy within a 10 (20?) mile radius of the start is near zero;

* The Chicago Marathon, very popular among marathoners, will be run March 18th, 2018; the chances of a motel/hotel having a vacancy within a 10 (20?) mile radius of the start is already low, if not near zero;

* The Boston Marathon, the Holy Grail of US marathoners, will be run April 16th, 2018; the chances of a motel/hotel having a vacancy within a 10 (20?) mile radius of the start is already low, if not near zero.

So OhBummer's staff would have had to book for the US delegation within weeks - if not days or hours - of the dates and location being announced. That's just the way heavily attended events of any type work.
