A newbie spins a tale so laughable even the DUmmies ridicule him.

I am sitting in a casual restaurant that bills itself as serving traditional American food. My companion (I have dropped her to borderline friend) asked me, as we were sitting waiting for our food, "How come there's no Americans working at this restaurant? They are all Latino." I was taken aback by this comment given that "Latino" and "American" are not mutually exclusive. I just shrugged to her thinking to myself at least she did not say "Mexican".

I am contemplating if I should bring up this issue to correct her after we finish our meals. I find it disturbing that she would equate Latinos as being non-American.

Doesn't start with "So".  No cops.  No bushes.  Maybe a conversion or clapping and thumbs-up is in the making.

What a pleasant individual to share a meal with.  Playing with his phone and ignoring his companion.  And I have a sneaking suspicion he's avoiding his "boring food" because he's afraid of who may have touched it.

So I told her they were all ilegals, and they work for sub standard wages  with no benefits, and they pushed Americans out of this kind of job.  Then I decided as a social justice warrior we should show our contempt for the slave driving owner and walk out with out paying. She surprised me by jumping up on the table and calling out the owner for his deplorable actions.

All the other customers stood up and clapped! it was then that I decided to upgrade our relationship again and now I am planning to propose to her. :cheersmate:

With the possible exception of an ethnic restaurant, I don't pay attention to the ethnicities of a restaurant's staff. Good food and good service don't have a skin color. So I'm wondering whether the GF was weird or imaginary. This being DU, I'm thinking the GF and :bouncy: are imaginary.
