In DUmmieworld, the fantasy is a $4/gallon fuel tax that would pay for high-speed rail and teleportation.  And free weed for everyone.

DU-folk have mentally :jerkit: ed their brains out thinking up fantasy-silver-bullet scenarios that would "get" Donald Trump. They're like a not-quite-novice chess player who plans out both his/her own moves and their opponents', and are surprised when the opponent does something (s)he didn't think of and wipes him/her off the board.

Cue Simpson's "Monorail" episode.

I was in Katy, TX a few weeks ago (next to Houston).  Regular was $1.98/gal.  Up here in N. Texas today it was $2.09.

Whatcha paying there in the land of my birth (So Cal)? The Land Of Deeply Regressive Taxes.

I grew up in OC back when it was fairly conservative in the 60's / early 70's. Now I'm a homeowner in a Ft. Worth suburb. I literally followed one of the Toyota moving trucks from Torrance to the Metroplex in 2014. We stayed overnight in Deming, New Mexico, and ate dinner with the local motel owner, who said that half his business was from people MOVING from California to Texas. There were about 8 or 10 cars with Calif plates, many of them filled with stuff in the back seats and U-Haul tow trucks, so I believed him.

When I left, I owned a $90,000 motor home and was paying $925 space rent that had gone up from $600 in 2005. I now have a mortgage on a much nicer house that's only a few hundred dollars more, but also not paying income tax which MORE than makes up the difference. And, I own the land. Ever since Reagan got Lucy'd when he signed the original immigration bill in the 80's, California was doomed.

THAT is my own major metric for California going to hell. At this point, people moving from California to Texas is a GAIN for Texas as all of us are net producers, and that metric isn't going to change UNTIL California starts reneging on their freebies. I give them until 2020 for that to happen.

Wait until they start voting in the same type of morons into the Texas state government that they did in mexifornia.  Liberals never learn. They vote these people in, get their taxes raised thru the roof, move to some other place and do the exact same damned thing.

Trust me... it will happen.
