Secret Service: Trump getting 6-8 threats per day

At a meeting with reporters Thursday, Secret Service director Randolph Alles said President Trump is getting about 6 to 8 threats each day, about the same as President Obama. From NBC News:

    The U.S. Secret Service is investigating about the same number of threats against Donald Trump as it did against the last several presidents, the agency’s new director said Thursday.

    “The number of threats has been fairly constant over the past 10 years, about six to eight a day,” said Randolph Alles, who became Secret Service director barely a month ago…

Director Alles was apparently asked about the incident yesterday involving comedian Kathy Griffin but refused to comment. TMZ reported yesterday that the Secret Service was investigating the situation.

Author and humorist David Sedaris reportedly said at a book promotion appearance at Politics and Prose in Washington, D.C. Thursday night that he “hates the president” and wishes he could have gone back in time to kill him, according to IJR’s Erin McPike.

Armed doctor, 43, arrested at Trump Hotel 'was driving to see the president and had so much ammunition in his car it looked like Oklahoma City bomber "Timothy McVeigh on a camping trip"'

A Pennsylvania doctor armed with an assault rifle and handgun allegedly said he was driving to see Donald Trump and that he had enough ammunition to make his car resemble Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh 'on a camping trip.'

Bryan Moles, 43, was arrested at Trump International Hotel in downtown Washington on Wednesday and faces charges of unlawful possession and transportation of a firearm.

He had told an acquaintance he had the ammunition, survival supplies and multiple cellphones for his trip to see the president, according to charging documents filed Thursday.
