I was driving her to the Doctor for an appointment. I asked if she had read about Trump's............that's all I got out of my mouth, when she countered with......

"I'm having a nice drive and you have to bring up that bastard's name, I just want him ****ing gone"

Whatever. Trump is guaranteed to be gone by late January, 2025. 60-something's mother may be gone sooner - not wishing for anything, just being realistic. Maybe 60-something should find topics and activities both find enjoyable so as to make those remaining years enjoyable.

It saddens me to see so many older folks overwrought with anger and despair over politics.  It's senseless.  Go find something to enjoy!  I have a handful of these types very close to me.

What really transpired:

Dummie: "I asked if she had read about Trump's..."
Mother: "Will you just please shut up about Trump?  I'm tired of listening to it!"

Another possibility:

Dummie: "I asked if she had read about Trump's..."
Mother: (not this again! Well I guess I better shut her up or this is all I am going to hear about... but I really need her to give me a ride to the MD... hmmmm......) "You know dear.... I am tired of hearing about Trump. I do not like him so let us not speak of him again."   (hopefully this will shut her up)
