Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that U.S. President Donald Trump had not divulged any secrets during a meeting in Washington with Russian officials and offered to prove it by supplying Congress with a transcript.

President Putin deployed his trademark sarcasm on Wednesday to make clear he thought the accusation that Trump had divulged secrets absurd.

"I spoke to him (Lavrov) today," a smiling Putin told a news conference with Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi.

"I'll be forced to issue him (Lavrov) with a reprimand because he did not share these secrets with us. Not with me, nor with representatives of Russia's intelligence services. It was very bad of him."

Putin, who still hopes Moscow can repair battered ties with the United States despite a deepening political scandal in the United States related to Trump's purported Russia ties, said Moscow had rated Lavrov's meeting with Trump highly.

If the Trump administration deemed it appropriate, Putin said Russia could hand over a transcript of Trump's meeting with Lavrov to U.S. lawmakers to reassure them that no secrets were revealed.

A Kremlin aide, Yuri Ushakov, later told reporters that Moscow had a written record of the conversation, not an audio recording.

Congress to Rename Street in Front of Russian Embassy After Murdered Anti-Putin Dissident

 May 17, 2017 3:00 pm

Congress is moving forward with an effort to rename the Washington, D.C., street in front of the Russian embassy after an anti-regime dissident who was mysteriously murdered due to what many believe was his outspoken criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Senate's Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday passed a bill to rename the street in front of the Russian Embassy after Boris Nemtsov, a prominent Russian physicist and democratic political reformer who publicly battled with Putin. Nemtsov was shot in the back multiple times in 2015 in what many believe to be a political assassination.

The Senate's legislation, led by Marco Rubio (R., Fla.), would rename the street in front of the Russian embassy Boris Nemtsov Plaza. The embassy's address would then become 1 Boris Nemtsov Plaza. All correspondence and other official communication would bear this address.

Russian Tweet Asks Who Killed DNC Staffer Seth Rich

The Russian Embassy stepped into the conversation of the the so-called hacking of the 2016 election battle between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton by asking the question "Who Killed Seth Rich?"

Fox News broadcast a report officially confirming, via anonymous FBI sources, what many had suspected for quite some time, that murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich was the WikiLeaks source for leaks which proved that the DNC was intentially undermining the campaign of Bernie Sanders. In addition to exposing the utter corruption of the DNC, the leaks cost Debbie Wasserman Shcultz her job as Chairwoman.

Seth Rich was fatally shot in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of Washington, D.C.July 10, 2016.  He was a 27-year-old employee of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). The family has accused conspiracy theorists of politicizing his death for political gain, and called posters of the conspiracy theories "disgusting".
