Personally I think Comey went to painful lengths to try and keep the FBI out of the political battle, to the point of bending too far over to avoid charging Hitlery (Though only he and Lynch know how much he was leaned on to do that), but in the process he managed to piss off literally everyone on both sides. No matter how good his intentions, he really isn't capable of leading the FBI because nobody in either the Administration or the Opposition trusts him anymore.
I have to disagree. The FBI had that handful of Flynn phone calls for 3-5 months, and only Monday announced there was nothing improper in them. It should have taken them less than a day to listen to them and realize that, and maybe another bureaucrat-day to communicate that up the chain of command. The rest of that time was just bowing to D and MSM pressure to keep their
Russia-Hacked-the-Election on life support.
Declining to push to prosecute
The CHILL for security violations that would have a normal person in prison for years, if not decades? Another politics-driven decision.
I'm not saying Comey was partisan, just that he bowed to politics in some of his key decisions.
