Ask Ace Hardware to drop 'Swingtown'
Dear Jason,

CBS' trashy Swingtown has been moved to Friday nights, after a short run on Thursdays. Typically, when a show is rescheduled like this, it means it is falling short on ratings, and with viewers and advertisers.

Because of your work, Swingtown can't get enough advertisers to pay the bills!

Last Friday's episode (August 8) had only one legitimate advertiser - ACE Hardware.

TAKE ACTION

Please take a moment and politely ask Ace Hardware to order their advertising support off Swingtown.

Send Your Letter Now!
Sincerely,

Donald E. Wildmon, Chairman
OneMillionDads.com

P.S. Please forward this to your family and friends!

Ace Hardware drops 'Swingtown'
Dear Jason,

Thanks to your good actions, we have heard from Ace Hardware.  They agree with you and have ordered their advertising to be far removed from CBS' Swingtown.  Below is their letter:

Dear One Million Moms, One Million Dads and the American Family Association Members,

Thank you for contacting us regarding Ace’s advertising on the CBS prime-time show, “Swingtown.”

When the media buy was placed for the show that aired Friday, August 8, we were unaware of the questionable content that would be included in that particular episode. While Ace, like all advertisers, is never given the opportunity to preview shows before the advertising is placed against our target demographic, we have made the decision to permanently cease all advertising on this particular CBS show, effective immediately.

For more than 80 years, Ace has prided itself on being an organization that puts family values, integrity and the highest standards in the forefront of all that we do not only at our 4,600 retail locations, but also throughout the corporation. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us and sincerely hope that you will continue to make Ace “your place” for your neighborhood hardware needs.

Sincerely,

Anne-Marie Cronin
Advertising Brand Manager

We have thanked Ace Hardware on your behalf.  However, if you'd like to send a personal note of appreciation for their actions, you may email them through their Online Form.

Sincerely,

Donald E. Wildmon, Chairman
OneMillionDads.com

P.S. Please forward this to your family and friends!

I love it!   :hyper:  Even better, liberals hate it!    :rotf:

It reminds me of how we got whoopi removed as the Slim-Fast spokesperson and kicked the Reagan hit-piece relegated to the back-shop.

Most Conservatives don't resort to boycotts, but, when angered, they generally win.  It is because they have deep principles and don't pull the trigger except in extreme circumstances.

Not like the freaking idiotic "not one damn dime day" who have NEVER succeeded in a boycott of anything.

We do have power, but it is in our nature to use it sparingly.

We rock.
If you want to worship an orange pile of garbage with a reckless disregard for everything, get on down to Arbys & try our loaded curly fries.

We got that "Book of Daniel" (or whatever) show off the air a while back.   :naughty:

Another notch -- and we elevated "Passion of the Christ" and killed "Last Temptation of Christ."

The only time the Left has come close is when they bought off on the 100% lying mockumentary F911.

Again, if you HAVE principles, you react when they are attacked (or supported).  If you DON'T, then you don't know when to demonstrate them (if you will forgive the ackward turn of phrase).

ps: Would you like us to hit Ace Hardware with some reminders about our desire to stay away from this filth?

Well, let's just say that the "swing" in "Swingtown" isn't referring to playground equipment or work shifts.

Designated hitters or switch hitters or both ?

I've never heard of the show either. Except for a handfull of programs I seldom watch Broadcast TV anymore.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

The most family friendly way to put it would be that it's a "nostalgic look back" at the 1970s and what "resulted" from the era of free love.

Usually there's just about anything else on that's better programming when it comes on.  I've been lucky enough to dodge it every time thus far.
