Police say 45-year-old Ehab Abdulmutta Jaber walked inside the conference holding his Koran in one hand and his cell phone in the other, wearing a t-shirt that said he was armed and he was Muslim. He began live streaming the conference on Facebook and started filming his Koran for about 45 seconds before panning the crowd.
An off-duty police officer that works with the conference approached the man and asked him to stop filming, as the event organizers stated at the beginning of the conference no audio or video recording would be permitted.
Pamela Geller reports:
Upon being approached, the man announced immediately that he was leaving. The officer asked him if he had a concealed weapon on his person to which he said he did. The man also told the officer he was live streaming on Facebook.
When the officer asked his name he told the officer “John Smith, the Muslim John Smith.”The man then reportedly proceeded to walk outside to his car in the parking lot where he filmed two more Facebook live videos.
During the video, you can watch the man making threatening remarks while showing the camera three different pistols and two rifles he had with him in the car. While brandishing the weapons on camera he warned the people attending the conference to “be afraid” and to “be terrified.”
