The Senate Intelligence Committee should subpoena Trump's tax returns to determine whether Trump has business interests with Russia, China or other foreign nations that could influence his decisions as president.

1. Is the purpose of this debate to acquit Donald Trump?

Because, in the eyes of ordinary voters, that's what would happen. There wouldn't be the 2/3 of the Senate ready to convict him, so he'd be "vindicated".

Taking advantage of the system he now is in a position to suppress your rights. Trump should have blipped somebody's radar decades ago when he went broke he should have stayed broke.

We will need lots of heavy duty Constitutional lawyering because this is uncharted territory with few if any real contingencies for this.

When it is proven that the election was stolen, the rightful President is the Majority winner Hillary Clinton.

If tRump resigns before the case is proven, Pence takes over, but his ticket and the Republican Electoral College win would by rights be erased and Hillary Clinton inaugurated when the case is proven.

 :o How in Hades could a DU member with >153K posts not realize that Trump, in running an international hospitality business, by definition has businesses all over the world? :o :banghead: Just as Carter's distribution business probably sold peanuts all over the world. :banghead: And just as Carter complied with the law by putting his businesses into a blind trust, Trump has complied with the law by putting his businesses into a blind trust. :banghead:

That reminds me of a joke that may not make it on the interwebs but.............

Sooooooooooo this guy has a very long member and asked around for a service lady that might be able to let him go "balls deep." Well after a few week this gal comes to his apartment and takes up the challenge. Being a considerate John he puts in about 8 inches and asks "Is that too far?" and shes says "No."

FYI: There is no federal law requiring elected officials to put their holdings into a blind trust.

Bankruptcy is a financial tool that is used by many big businesses.  It is a great way to manage the business when cash flow gets tight for whatever reason (in the real estate market there were several large blips that affected recently completed projects).

Of course you have to KNOW stuff to understand the difference between bankruptcy and broke.

Trump has NEVER been broke.  He took that million from his dad and turned it into billions.

Thanks for the clarification. I was actually thinking more generally, of conflict of interest laws. Blind trusts are a tool for complying with those. And, of course, there's DU-folks' great-something-or-other-hope, the Constitution's "Foreign Emoluments Clause".
