Bill O'Reilly out at Fox News
« on: April 19, 2017, 01:52:05 PM »
by Madeleine Morgenstern | Apr 19, 2017, 2:33 PM

Bill O'Reilly is out at Fox News after a swirling sexual harassment scandal refused to let up on its primetime star.

"After a thorough and careful review of allegations against him, the Company and Bill O'Reilly have agreed that Mr. O'Reilly will not return to the Fox News Channel," 21st Century Fox said in a statement Wednesday.

The announcement followed 24 hours of intense speculation that O'Reilly was finally on his way out, first triggered by a New York Times article earlier this month that revealed Fox and O'Reilly had settled multiple sexual harassment claims with a number of women, totaling in the millions of dollars.

Bill O’Reilly Is Forced Out at Fox News

Mr. O’Reilly has denied the allegations against him.

Mr. O’Reilly, 67, has been an anchor at Fox News since he started at the network in 1996. He was the top-rated host in cable news, serving up defiant commentary every weekday at 8 p.m., with a message that celebrated patriotism and expressed scorn for political correctness. His departure is a significant blow to Fox News’s prime-time lineup, which in January lost another star, Megyn Kelly, from a lineup that dominated the prime-time cable news ratings.

Tucker to take over at 8

Update: It’s Tucker at 8. Who’s at 9?

NPR can report that @TuckerCarlson will take O'Reilly's 8 p.m. slot. A new generation takes over the most valuable real estate in cable news

Decisions are now being made as to whether O’Reilly will be allowed a final show to bid farewell to his audience. They are also discussing the terms of his release, with O’Reilly recently having signed a new long-term $20 million a year contract.

Email shows Media Matters orchestrating Fox star smear campaign

On Wednesday, talk radio host Glenn Beck tweeted an email from the Bonner Group, a leftist fundraising firm that works for Media Matters.

FOX just cut their own throat then.  Amazingly suicidal business-move.

Nobody can fill The Factor-seat.  Move Hannity to the slot and hope for the best.  I'll switch-over to OneAmerica.

Tucker in at 7 pm/8 Eastern.  The Five is taking the 8/9 slot.  Good moves.

The Five will be as raucous as ever. :whistling:

Well, according to liberals, conservatives are mind numbed robots and will tune into Fox no matter what.

It'll be fine.

Katy Tur: Does Fox Have ‘Responsibility’ to Replace O’Reilly With ‘Somebody Who Is Not a White Man?’

BY: Sam Dorman
April 19, 2017 4:02 pm

MSNBC host Katy Tur asked on Wednesday whether Fox News Channel has a "responsibility" to "vary" its primetime lineup by replacing former FNC host Bill O'Reilly with someone who is not a "white man."

"They had three white men: Bill O'Reilly, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity in their primetime lineup," Tur said.

She asked fellow MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle whether Fox had "a responsibility to vary it up" by hiring a woman or "somebody who is not a white man."

Ruhle said Fox does not "necessarily" have the responsibility to make that replacement, but noted Fox's executives from the Murdoch family embraced "global citizenship."

Fox News announced on Wednesday that after 21 years of working with the network, O'Reilly would not return to his show "The O'Reilly Factor" amid sexual harassment allegations.

We made FOX.  We'll break FOX.

Here's a helpful hint to the new primtime-lineup: Interrupt libs who descend into psycho-babble.

And just what America needs at 9/6PM; Williams, Beckel, or Rivera every night.  Panel-discussions don't work in the evening.  They just don't.  Maybe The Five will.  I doubt it.  And the remedy of bringing-on and interviewing 'celebrities' would be ridiculous.

FOX could've at least gave Sharyl Attkisson a shot at a show.
