Background: the garybeck primitive is a non-native Vermontese who, after screwing up his own home voting for Democrats, liberals, and primitives, causing high taxes, high crime, congestion, and all sorts of other problems, then moved on to foul another nest; the garybeck primitive took an old school bus and remodeled it to run on solar power.  The garybeck primitive in real life is a nice guy, but shallow; wishy washy.

Pelosi indicates openness to offshore drilling vote

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Monday night dropped her staunch opposition to a vote on offshore oil drilling in the House.

Republicans, reacting to high gas prices, have demanded a vote on additional oil exploration in the Outer Continental Shelf, where drilling is currently blocked by a moratorium. Until now, Pelosi (D-Calif.) has resisted the idea as a “hoax.” But in an interview on CNN’s Larry King Live, she indicated that she was open to a vote.


“They have this thing that says drill offshore in the protected areas,” Pelosi said. “We can do that. We can have a vote on that.”

She indicated such a vote would have to be part of a larger package that included other policies, like releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which she said could bring down prices in a matter of days.

“But it has to be part of something that says we want to bring immediate relief to the public and is not just a hoax on them,” Pelosi continued.

She even indicated that she might support a package that includes drilling. She said her decision on whether to support such legislation would depend on how the policies are packaged.

Considering the history, I'd say that we can interpret the "might support" as "will support." This is thoroughly disgusting.

1. Has a grassroots campaign been organized yet to see to it that Pelosi is removed as Speaker come 2009?

If there is, I'd like to support that effort. Might as well target Reid while were at it...

Maybe John Boehner's going to replace Bela Pelosi as Speaker.

Remember, the shift in control of the House of Representatives happened with a shift in less than 1% of the national electorate; it can happen again.  I'm not saying it will; I'm saying it can.

Yes, I see they're upset about it.  But I wonder if they really -- and I do mean do they really -- understand that their lily white as the pure driven snow Dem Congresscritters will do whatever's politically expedient to stay in power so they can, in turn, continue to do whatever is politically expedient for them to stay in power, and that what's politically expedient for them has nothing to do with what liberal kooks like the DUmmies want them to do?

Nah, I don't believe they're bright enough to understand this.
