DEMS UNVEIL CONVENTION THEMES
« on: August 11, 2008, 11:02:18 AM »

The MichelleStar! is going to blow it, and say something stupid.  hillary would would rather be shot into outer
space than be giving a speech at The BarackStar!'s nominating convention.  the running mate will be interesting,
I admit.  but "change you can believe in" is getting awfully threadbare by now, isn't it?

Michelle ?   Seriously ?   There are no democrat leaders worthy of serious mic time ?

My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

William Ayers had a previous engagement.  And you know how Tony Rezko and the rest of the Chicago Political Mob Machine prefer to remain in the shadows background behind their candidates, outside the limelight.

it's a cinch that she stomps on herself.  a staffer telling the spouse of the candidate, especially THIS spouse of THIS candidate, that perhaps saying that on national television would be a mistake, would prove to be impossible, I am sure.

I suspect you are correct.  The funniest thing will be that she won't even realize it not will she accept it once she's told.

Not a lot of testosterone in the Dem Party since JFK.

interesting, also, that the "theme" on the night that the veep nominee is to speak is "securing america's future".  you couldn't very well put a tim kaine in that situation, but you could put up a joe biden or an evan bayh to speak to that issue.  or even a hillary clinton, for that matter.  this is all assuming that The BarackStar! has pretty much made up his mind on his veep, and intentionally chose the theme on the night the veep was to speak.

bill richardson, one of my early predictions for dem veep nominee, apparently committed political suicide yesterday by spewing rampant silliness all over the airwaves about the russian/georgian situation.

Michelle the first speaker on the first day during Primetime...no...she's not going to dictate policy during her husband's potential presidency. :whatever:
And Obama's "leave my wife out of it" just got flushed down the toilet as she just took centerstage. :evillaugh:

I didn't catch that, but rampant silliness hardly disqualifies him from the point of view of the Donk party leadership.

if obama won indiana it would make it VERY hard for mccain to win the white house.

yeah, but I can think of states I would rather try to flip than indiana.  despite assurances to the contrary by dixiebelle and jim, I still worry about virginia;  not as much as I did, but some.  but kaine has turned out to be kind of a wiener. :-)

I don't think he'll pick Kaine though.  :)  Ehh, we'll all know soon enough who the VPs are to be.

I think Virginia will be close in popular vote, but will ultimately go Red.
