Was Berserkeley PD (and/or UCB PD) given stand-down orders again?

Concealed carry permits are not easy to get in CA, generally, and Alameda County (which includes Berserkeley and Oakland) probably especially so.

Since the police either cannot or will not protect conservative people from thugs like these conservatives need to organize response in depth. It's sad, and it will get messy, but if the police can't/won't do their jobs the alternatives are suffer, surrender, or fight back.

Yep, but like I said, when the police cannot or will not protect law-abiding citizens, self-protection happens. And it will be less precise and messier.

I wonder if "Star Member packman" read the real-time-blog (s)he posted. It pretty much documents/affirms that the Hate-Trumpers instigated the violence, that the Trump supporters made some self-defense efforts (they came prepared!), and Berserkeley PD let @#$% happen, making arrests late in the day.

I see the source is MSM, a company that owns papers ranging from small local dailies to the San Jose Mercury News and the Oakland Tribune. Not a Reich-Wing source, except in the DU news I don't want heard sense.
