Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant sent a warning shot across the bow to local pastors who are harboring illegal immigrants. This is, I think, a common sense position in the fight against massive illegal immigration and the liberal sanctuaries that give them safety.

Illegal immigration and open borders hurt America, in the way of job loss for regular Americans, crime, and drugs. We see it every day.

Bryant wants to remind these pastors they are breaking the law of the land when they accept illegal aliens, and as men of faith, their allegiance should be with law-abiding citizens rather than criminals.

You can’t be angry at this common sense governor. He has to look out for the law-abiding citizens in his state. Watching clergy break the law is wrong in the eyes of God and man. Laws are on the books for a reason my friends, and without them, we would be in huge trouble.

I salute Governor Bryant, and I pray he reaches his clergy before something tragic happens within the community.

From Pajama Media:

Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant (R) said faith leaders should follow “man’s law” and not harbor illegal immigrants in churches and other places of worship.

PJM asked Bryant if he thinks churches and religious organizations should help shield undocumented immigrants from deportation.

“I don’t believe so. I think if you are a faith leader or anyone else you have to look also at the nation’s law. There’s God’s law and then there’s man’s law, and man’s law says that you have to go by certain rules and standards to become a citizen of the United States or you come here illegally – illegally means it’s against the law,” Bryant told PJM during the National Governors Association winter meeting in Washington over the weekend.

“We are a nation of laws, so the federal government is going about enforcing the laws. And I hope people of faith will understand that part of the responsibility of your faithfulness is to also understand what man’s law is,” he added.

I'm quite sure this man would be tarred, feathered, and his dead body hung up on a pole in downtown Los Angeles if he were the governor of California.
