The Kentucky senator said the nation is “very lucky” Donald Trump is in charge and not McCain.

Meanwhile, McCain continued his attacks on Trump this morning comparing his actions to a dictator.
The Hill reported:

Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.) ripped fellow Republican Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) on Sunday after McCain criticized President Trump’s escalating war of words with the media.

He argued that the nation is “very lucky” that Trump is president and not McCain, who won the 2008 GOP nomination but lost to Barack Obama in the general election.

Paul said that McCain’s recent criticisms of Trump are driven by his “personal dispute” with the president over foreign policy.

He added that McCain and Trump are at odds because McCain supports the wide deployment of U.S. troops to protect and promote American interests abroad while he characterized Trump’s views as closer to a realpolitik approach to foreign policy.

“Everything that he says about the president is colored by his own personal dispute he’s got running with President Trump and it should be taken with a grain of salt because John McCain’s the guy who’s advocated for war everywhere,” Paul said on ABC’s “This Week.”

Rand Paul: Bolton a 'Bad Choice,' Fear His 'Secret Wars'

Sen. Rand Paul on Sunday slammed former UN Ambassador John Bolton as "a bad choice" for national security adviser.

In an interview on ABC News' "This Week," the Kentucky Republican said Bolton, under consideration by President Donald Trump to fill the position vacated by Michael Flynn's resignation, is too independent and hawkish for the role.

"The problem with John Bolton is he disagrees with President Trump's foreign policy," Paul said. "He would be closer to [Arizona Republican] John McCain's foreign policy – he still believes the Iraq war was a good idea. He believes that nation-building is a good idea."

"I think John Bolton would be much closer to McCain than Trump. And I think that his history of sort of acting on his own, my fear is that secret wars would be developing around the globe. So no, I think he would be a bad choice. "

Wasn't McCain "boldly" slamming Trump while speaking on foreign soil? I'll bet more than a few Arizonans who voted McCain during the primary are ruing that vote!

McCain has never gotten over his defeat by Bush in the primaries of 2000, the courts smacking down McCain-Feingold, and his defeat in 2008 (when the MSM basically set him up (in the primaries) to knock him down (in the General Election). I wish Arizonans had ballot-box retired McCain in the primary. He's going to back-stab Trump whenever possible. Or at least try to.
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how it is that McCain stays teflon-coated in Arizona.  He should have been tossed six years ago, much less this past year.

McCain supplies, supports, and protects the flow of cheap illegal alien labor from Mexico.  The Chamber of Commerce reciprocates.
