This reminds me. Earlier this evening, I watched the 1962 film
Lawrence of Arabia, where about 7/8ths of the way through the movie, Lawrence and the Arab liberationists come across a village that had been stormed, ransacked, looted, pillaged, and burned by the retreating Turk oppressionists, every man, woman, and child in it brutally murdered.
The village reminded me of America, circa 2016, the end of the Age of Aquarius, after the primitives--in the movie, the Turks--had gotten done pillaging and looting and ravishing us.
Lawrence and the Arab liberationists had a choice, the less bloody one to simply go around the retreating Turks and continue their way to Damascus, or to take the time and trouble to make the Turks pay for their crimes.
Calm heads counseled the former, but really, this undeserved bloodshed demanded vengeance, so Lawrence and the Arab liberationists massacred the retreating Turks, chopping them to pieces, making mincemeat of them, taking no prisoners.
This is what the President needs to do; he's been doing a little bit of it, but not fast enough and nearly enough. This side has got to ramp up the tempo; if we allow any of the primitives to get away, to live, they'll come back to do us even more damage.
