If There Is A US Civil War It Will Be Over Religion.

Right now RW Christians are feeling their power. They will not rest until they can force their beliefs on the rest of the country even though they are NOT the majority of Americans. We could end up like Iraq or any other Middle East country where sectarian viiolence reigns. Or we could end up like Ireland with the war between Protestants and Catholics. They have the mistaken belief that the rest of us will just roll over and accept their dictatorial and tyrannical take over.

Such strife can happen here. The RW Christian movement has a white supremacist master race flavor that Trump and the GOP are encouraging. Right now the GOP is proposing policies and legislation that is making Christianity official for all practical purposes. And they are relentless in their quest to suppress all dissent over their plans.

DeVos is the most obvious signal that Christians demand all of our schools be Christian. And they are not disguising their intentions any more. Every state controlled by the GOP really wants complete control over a woman's life where reproduction is concerned. I their world a woman's ONLY purpose is to have children and to be a slave to the husband and her church. There is NO other option for woman.

In that way the GOP and RW Christian churches are as bad as the terrorists who use Islam to control women.

Ummmmmm ... does TMN realize that "beliefs" render his comment oxymoronic. Beliefs come about by persuasion, not force. IOW, were TMN ever to set foot in a Christian church, he would find they teach against force. If TMN wants to bring up the Crusades and the 30 Years' War, he should talk to them.

Obviously (I know, again) TMN has never set foot in a theologically conservative church. Catholic churches here in Silicon Valley commonly have masses especially for Vietnamese and Hispanics. Evangelical churches very commonly share their facilities with Hispanic, Chinese, and Korean (that I've observed) churches. Many larger Evangelical churches have services - and leaders on staff - in Spanish, Chinese, Amharic (TMN would probably have to Google that), and other languages (or translators on short-range radio). Many larger Evangelical churches (those with several pastoral staff members) have pastors who are, well, of multiple ethnic origins (since many list and have pictures of their staff members, TMN would not have to set foot out of his house to learn that). Pretty damn strange things for white supremacists to be doing!

I guess TMN hasn't bothered to learn that Betty DeVos has served in local PS classrooms and has been publicly praised by her local PS school and district leaders.

Again, TMN obviously has never set foot in a theologically conservative church, or been around their members. He should also eschew their staff pages, as they might be triggering to his cherished stereotypes.

TMN should spend less time re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-reading The Handmaid's Tale and meet some real-life theologically conservative Christians.

The DUmmies really shouldn't be so worried about Christians and the weekly church-goers.

They need to worry more about the people that believe in God, but don't necessarily attend church.

We can see what the lack of God has done and is doing to the country, but we don't worry as much when it might come to violence in defending liberties guaranteed in the Constitution.

For the last several weeks, ol' Bob's just been giving repetitive "We need to stop being nice and start being mean and obnoxious to people who disagree with us" rants, but now he seems to be back to his old Christian- hating self, posting rants about all Christians in which all he has are stereotypes and straw men of what he (Who, as we have noted, has clearly never set foot in a church in his life) thinks they believe.

Actually, Bob, yes, the majority of Americans ARE at least professing Christians!

One more factor to influence blue on blue violence in such a war: Drugs.
I've long imagined that, in the event of an actual red vs. blue civil war, a good way for us to win would be by determining the locations of all the blues' crackhouses, pot farms, drug labs, and other sources of dope nationwide, and destroying every one of them in a series of well- orchestrated strikes in one night. Burn the fields, flush the stashes, smash the equipment, all of it. This will cripple them both by causing their forces (Nearly all of whom are drug addicts) to go through severe withdrawal over having their supplies abruptly cut off, and by causing them to attack and kill each other in fights over whatever dope is left. I still remember hearing a story from the "Occupy Wall Street" days in which, in one of the Occupy camps, one Occupier was shot and killed by another Occupier in a fight over a baggie of pot. Imagine that times 1000, and that's how we can cause the blues to cripple themselves/ each other.
