New Canaan News:According to the arrest warrant on file at Superior Court, the incident began when von Keyserling had a brief political discussion with a 57-year-old female employee at the Witherell. The discussion turned acrimonious, according to the court papers, and the woman went to her office.
The encounter continued in the office, and when the woman rose to leave, she was pinched on her rear end by von Keyserling, according to the affidavit.
...
Police reviewed videotape of the office. According to the affidavit, it was unclear where von Keyserling’s hand was when the woman walked past him.
The sequence of events documented on the video was consistent with the woman’s account, according to court papers, and she was seen pointing a finger at von Keyserling in a disapproving, agitated manner on the video.
Earlier in the article:
Russell said the incident in question, at the Nathaniel Witherell Home, could not be described as sexual or aggressive in nature. He said the charge stemmed from a “jocular” moment with a woman at a gathering at the town-owned senior facility.
“In almost 30 years of practicing law in this town, I would say Mr. von Keyserling is the one person I would never suspect of having any inappropriate sexual predilections,” Russell said, noting his client is in his 70s.
Two things:
RawStory, unsurprisingly, made @#$% up (or repeated @#$% someone else pulled out of their @#$);
The statement of von Keyserling's lawyer is well short of saying, "Von Keyserling didn't touch her."
I don't know CN's laws, but it sounds like, "fourth-degree sexual assault," is an over-charge with regard to what may have happened. If the charge isn't dismissed or lowered to something more proportional to what may have happened, a not guilty verdict might be the outcome.
DU-folk, being what they are, will knee-jerkingly refuse to recognize that RawStory lied.
ETA: From the quote from RawStory:
When the woman tried to walk away ... allegedly reached from behind to place his hand between her legs and pinched her in the groin ...
Just RawStory's description of what it claims happened is improbable, verging on impossible. The woman is walking away and he somehow managed to reach around from behind, get his hand in her genitals area and pinch her? Human arms aren't that long or that fast. What the accuser claimed, that he pinched her rear end, is at least physically possible.
