I'm a little leery of sales figures since political organizations tend to make bulk buys to make books they support 'Best sellers" and then discount them off at greatly reduced prices.  Bela is disadvantaged in this little charade by the fact that she is flogging her book in the midst of a hotly-contested Presidential campaign which is sucking up all the oxygen (and money), and her book doesn't help either contender.  At the bottom line, she represents a single district and the only voters who have a direct connection to her are found in a single open-air lunatic asylum Congressional district in Kalifornistan, with no actual national constituency.  I expect there will be a bulk buy at some point by a major leftist organization or 527 to pimp up the numbers, perhaps after the Dumbocrat convention.

i liked how her reps said, after she'd been on all of the tv talk shows last week: "well, the Speaker was at work and didnt have time to properly invest her time in sales"

maybe while she's on her five week break, she can invest more time  :lmao:

McCain needs to be using this fiasco against her as well..

Sorry, ain't buying it.  This figure also includes ALL copies (sold or unsold) that chain bookstores have bought to stock their stores.  ONE Costco or Sam's Club sold more rolls of toilet paper yesterday than Nancy will EVER sell of this hunk of crap book, with or without a publicity tour to promote it.

Well, Sparky, considering her district, her seat is probably so safe she doesn't need to look good on the sales numbers.  If she did need it though, you'd see a big PAC or 527 buy after Denver.  I tend ot agree it probably won't happen, because she won't need it to get re-elected.

These politicians books are , as far as I can tell, ghost written legal political payoffs. SOMEONE pays off the publisher's  costs and small profit with bulk sales. Witness the Clinton books. Something failed in this case, there are no bulk DNC etc sales. Maybe that's a not so subtle was of telling Nancy that a 9% approval rate doesn't rate bulk purchase payoffs.
