wow. having a sane conversation w the ex.
young son is in a bit of a fix, and i appealed to his dad for help.
he didnt tell me to get screwed. and even after the kid told him to **** off, he is still getting some good advice and trying to keep communication open.
i breathe a sigh of relief that we can still act as parents together.
so glad to be through the slog of it all, and out the other side w/o lifelong animosity.
phew.

2. his new lady is helping, too
a long time chicago cop. irish, from donnybrook.
i guess this makes her really part of the family now. what a concept that i still have a family.
thought that was gone for good.

3. VERY good!
A FAMILY!
My son in law's a cop, Irish too (American, but the heritage is close.) A fine family.
Other son in law also has Irish heritage, plus Italian. Those 2 met today with their attorneys, so terms of divorce finally reached. The kids get to maintain relations with the entire family.

4. daughter tells me i would like her.
apparently a reference to her son's "new lady;" Big Mo's a little hard to follow at times
i prolly would, too.
she seems like she is really good for him. getting him up off his butt, for one thing.
my animosity is all gone. not gonna be a sore winner. lol.

5. Very good to hear!
No sore winner here either, considering lovely home I can afford (to rent) due to survivor benefits, 'his' federal health benefits, and soc sec.
Took us a while, tho, eh?
^^^just
won't let go of her ex-husband even though he's been dead a long time now.
