New Year’s day I wrote a full page letter to twenty of my friends stating if they supported Trump, and I knew three did, then there would be no further communication from me, ever. I detailed all the reasons, , treasonous, intolerant, xenophobic, misogynist, woman hating and abusing, racist, white supremacist, white nationalist, violent neo-Nazi, science denying, Russian apologist, Putin puppet etc. All but five responded positively to my letter, leaving the balance to be Trump supporters.

Two of those supporters have called me and we talked for about 30 minutes each. The gist of both conversations was that I was correct in my assessment, and this was why Trump was elected, and they were proud of it. They were proud to have the chance to destroy what Obama “has done to our country” by tearing down the government and remaking it into something totally different, and they hoped that now I would feel the way they have felt for the past eight years.

We are facing an annihilation level event here. From NC changing the power of the new governor, the apparent witch hunts of government agencies and the expected use of the Holman Rule to fire those they don’t like, no transition for ambassadors, killing congressional ethics, defunding PP, and the list goes on and on. They are not only going to get their way, they intend to exterminate all resistance in the future as payback for the last eight years.
The seething hatred of Obama crossed lines of politics into religion, sexual orientation, gender, AND race. I was surprised by the fact the conversations revolved around Obama and never once was Hillary mentioned. Is it racial hatred or policy hatred?

Seriously, can you imagine getting an email like this from someone you know?
This is what happens when you build your entire identity around politics... and I don't think there is a pill for this.

I've had very liberal relatives defriend me on facebook because I supported Trump. They even refused to attend the annual family Christmas dinner.

Oh well.

I've got one working for me, and he freekin HATES me. It's hilarious.
I don't normally do politics at work, I won't engage, but he knows... and it near kills him knowing there's nothing he can do or say about it.
In fact, he's blocked the cave on one of our firewalls so I can't read anymore from internal nodes. I'm waiting for the right moment to use that, what he did was a clear violation of policy...  he doesn't decide, I do.
I could get in there and remove the filter, but I don't do much of that when I'm in the office anyway, plus I need it there for evidence.
The funny part is he thinks I'm stupid and don't know. I love it.

It will just make dropping the surprise that much more fun.   :-)  Plus, you should probably be ready to take a pic of his facial reaction.  It would be a real keepsake.

How nice to have 15 disposable friends. I wonder how many were also disposable family members.

True :bouncy: time. When Mrs. SVPete and I married, we saw friends and family from 3 churches (some from ~125 miles away!) at our wedding. When I needed brain surgery (explains a lot, I know) friends from 3 churches met at the local Red Cross while donating blood toward the possibility I might need a pint (I didn't, and their donations went to people who did need them). When, sadly, we attended a memorial service for a young friend who had died, we saw friends from I don't know how many church and homeschooling and ??? circles. Throwing away friends over politics is stupid.

I am always amused by how such a tiny website like Conservative Cave can get liberals into such a snit. It makes me happy to be a small part of an engine that pisses off so many who deserve to be.

no, no crime. this is for our internal company only and doesn't affect any other clients service. he knows that would directly get him canned. only the clients decide what filters to use, if any, on their own traffic since we are their service provider.

I like to stay stupid and surprise the hell out him once in a while.

You know, I get so pissed off at sore losers--I hope to God I've never been one myself, and I don't believe I have been--that I'm always more than willing to write them off as friends.

The problem is, the sore losers won't let go of me, because franksolich is pretty much the only friend they have.

Well, I've been a sore loser plenty of times.
But, one of the things that separates most of us from the DUnces is we don't act like.. well, DUnces.
I can't tell you how pissed I was when bugles got elected, most especially the second time. But I ate it like almost all the rest of us. I didn't set anything on fire, I didn't poop on any cop cars, I didn't kidnap and torture anyone, and I certainly didn't suggest pulling every dirty trick imaginable to invalidate the election.
And you know what? I didn't lose ANY friends over it either.

That's the thing right there. 

There are liberals, and then there are DUmp liberals.  The latter know where I stand, I know where they stand, and we can mutually agree to respect the other's opinion.
