Florida Governor Reached Out to Trump After Fort Lauderdale Shooting But Not Obama
Quote
In the aftermath of the deadly mass shooting at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport today, Florida Governor Rick Scott spoke to the press to give an update.

Scott stated that he reached out to President-elect Donald Trump and Vice-President-elect Mike Pence, who let him know they would help him with any assistance from the federal government.

However, he also let it be known that he has not spoken with the current President, saying Barack Obama has not reached out to him yet. When pressed by reporters, he stated that he only reached out to Trump and Pence, but not to Obama, and that it was him who initiated the contact with Trump/Pence.

Scott later bristled when asked why he didn’t try to contact the sitting POTUS, saying it was not a time to be political.

Scott knows that Obama is useless in a pinch.

It would seem to me that our leader Obama should have reached out to Governor Scott of FL not the other way around.

Yeah, and the old bitch the bettyellen primitive is whining about this; I almost brought over her thread, but then decided I'd look for a better, more important, one.

Why would Gov. Scott reach out to a POTUS who deals with states' tragedies partisanly (sorry for the coined word, but it's the best description for BHO's SOP)? Besides, BHO was probably in the middle of a round and would not appreciate being disturbed.

That's the way it worked for decades until the Chocolate Jesus of the Holy City of Chicongo became Preznint.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Less verbose. :-)

Gov. Scott was trying to improve the situation, and in light of that fact, it becomes obvious why he reached out to Trump and not to Obama.

For once, perhaps the 0bummer administration was actually waiting for more details.  Rather than automatically blame racists, conservatives, gun owners.  But it appears their narrative will now be easy gun ownership, access to airports, military PTSD.

It's tempting to think that maybe, after 8 years of leaping at every perceived opportunity to ride their political hobby-horses the Obama Administration STHU and refrained from making public statements. Personally, I suspect someone learned early that the killer wasn't a white guy, i.e. didn't fit their racial agenda.

That said only partisan politics hindered BHO from putting down his putter (or pen & phone) and dialing up Gov. Scott to tell him, "We're saddened to hear of this tragedy. Whatever you need, you'll get." Gov. Scott has that eeeeeeeeee-vile R after his name. And FL rejected The SHREW.
