Having A Bad Day? Get A Gun & Take It Out On Several Strangers

His flight must have been delayed. Thank god he has his rights to own a gun and resolve the problem.

Don't worry....nothing will change. Perhaps more cops at the airport with machine guns, but little else.

Isn't it illegal to take a gun to an airport.  OOoohhh.  That man broke the law!

Prayers out to the victims and their families and may the psychopath rot in hell.

Honorable, or General?  Believe I just heard them say General under Honorable Conditions on the news, which if true would mean he was discharged for an admin reason before his contract ran out, and that would explain why he would still have an unexpired military ID card in his possession, and therefor possibly how he might have gotten less scrutiny than he otherwise would've.

Yep Snugs, forum hogging he/she is.  And the usual gun grabbers are right there, like Hoyt.  In the post-mortem forum, they've discussed how gun control is a losing issue for them, and many of them came to agree.  But they just can't help themselves.

I belonged to a forum once, where you couldn't post more than x times every 60 minutes, or start a new thread once every x times per 8 hours or some such.  It was designed to reign in the crazies who get a bug up their ass.  Skins should do the same thing.  They love the Rulz, don't ya know.

I heard general discharge, too. Also his brother says he was under psychiatric care in Alaska.

This was a couple of hours ago--Shep Smith said it.  If he updated it, I haven't heard.

From what I've seen, it seems to be similar to the vast majority of mass shootings in terms of the buildup; A man is known by his friends and family members to clearly be disturbed and show the warning signs of being at risk for violent behavior well in advance, and yet none of them get off their butts to do anything about it until it's too late. That was the case with the Columbine shooters, with the Virginia Tech shooter, with Jared Loughner, with the Aurora Movie Theater shooter, with the Sandy Hook shooter, and on and on and on. Nine times out of ten, the shooter's loved ones KNEW he was dangerous, and yet they did nothing.
You want to know the best way to stop mass shootings; Some kind of campaign to help educate the public on the warning signs that a person may be at risk of committing a violent act, and (This is key), if they know someone demonstrating those signs, encourage them to act on it and ensure the person is stopped and gets the professional help they need before it's too late.
For an example of this principle in action, shortly after the Aurora Movie Theater shooting, another disturbed man plotted a similar mass shooting for the midnight premiere of 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2.' Fortunately, his family noticed he was seeming odd lately, did a little digging and realized what he was planning, and they ACTED on it: They called the cops, he was arrested, and God knows how many innocent lives were saved by their courage and quick thinking.

H-5 earned and issued.

In addition, the FBI knew this guy (last I heard from reading news), but didn't take him seriously, beyond having him see a shrink. :thatsright: Brilliant! :thatsright:

This is a continued result from the United States getting all touchy feely about mental illness. I'm sorry to say it, but there are people who need to be in asylums, full time, for their own safety and the safety of others. No amount of counciling or outreach is going to alter the dangerously deranged.

But no.. Calling a crazy person crazy and acting on it is now taboo. Just more political correctness fallout.

But, but, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Actually, the legal insanity - shutting down mental hospitals because it was believed that drugs and neighborhood dispensary-clinics were the modern, humane, solution - was mandated by WashDC starting in the late 1950s.

It ain't Presbyterianism or Catholicism or Buddhism or Anglican or Lutheran or Amish.

That my friends is why the fake news dropped this like a hot falafal.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
