making the rounds on FB - don't turn off your Tv on inauguration day, leave it on but
on some channel not showing trumpenstein being sworn in:

"CALL TO ACTION: Don't turn off tv Inauguration Day!
DO NOT TURN OFF TV! Read on.
If you have cable or satellite TV, they keep track of who is watching what. Instead of turning your TV off that day, turn all your TVs on OTHER CHANNELS. Some suggestions would be:

The Science Channel
National Geographic
Discovery
Animal Planet
Comedy Central
or any channel not showing Drumpf

Here's the reason.
If 1000 households are watching TV that day:

400 or 40% are watching Drumpf.
600 or 60% are watching anything else.

With a boycott of 400, you have this:

400 or 67% are watching Drumpf
200 or 33% are watching anything else.

Suddenly, if we turn off the TVs, it looks like a large majority of viewers tuned into Drumpf. But if our TVs are tuned to other shows, the percentage drops.

For Drumpf, to have low ratings AND low percentage, it'll be a blow to his ego. Twitter will be hilarious.

Get it? Got it? Good."

I'll just make sure every TV I have is tuned to the inauguration.

I will put them all on the Hallmark Channel for sappy, happy ending movies.

I will be working all day, and wouldn't watch even if I were home.

As PGR said, regardless of TV ratings, on January 21st Donald Trump will be President, and he and his administration will not bother to look for the TV ratings for Inauguration coverage.

Trump seems to have a severe unhinged effect on them, more than any Republican I can remember other than perhaps Sarah Palin. Perhaps we can call it the Palin Effect.

Excellent response, Undies!  Haven't been to one of those restaurants since college.  Fond memories, since I never got sick from the food.

I remember Pedro's. I wasn't making much money at the time (late 70's) and that was one place I could go and stuff myself cheap. I especially liked the chile reanos(sp)?

"DU this poll" is how I got started with DU. I read about DU on the Neal Boortz website, went there, and started lurking and voting the opposite of what the "DU this poll" wanted.

That got boring after awhile, so I registered as USNRET88 (I retired from USN in 1988), and later changed the name to Obamanaut on a name change amnesty program they held. I lasted for several years and thousands of posts, picking and prodding here and there, until the ban hammer hit me for asking were the two reverends going to stage a protest for the black youths who had carjacked a vehicle from an old white guy, beat him, and left him senseless. This was during the Trayvon Martin trial.

What was really funny was some of the posts on the grave dancing thread, bringing up the 88 in my former screen name with comments along the line of "I've had my eye on that one for a long time."  < - - There were several similar to that.

The networks - aside from Fox - loathe Donald Trump, but they're going to cover the inauguration because he's relevant. Unlike Obama. Unlike Clinton. Unlike Bernie.
