yardwork (43,003 posts)

I grew up in a very red, rural community in the midwest.
I have relatives who live in various red, rural communities. I see the Facebook posts of my former classmates.

Hillary Clinton didn't lose the election because coastal elites are snobby. (They aren't paying any attention to us.) She didn't lose because she called Trump supporters deplorable. (They don't know or care what the word deplorable means.) Rural people who voted against Hillary did so because they are convinced that:

1. She deliberately caused U.S. patriots to die in Benghazi, which is somewhere far off, because she sent them there with no weapons and refused to send troops to protect them.

2. She's responsible for the murder of millions of babies.

3. She tried to hide her emails because they revealed that she was sex trafficking children, and so then her emails were hacked by Isis and that's why they attacked Benghazi and killed American patriots. Then she deleted 30,000 more emails that were about even worse things than sex trafficking children.

4. She lied. And stole. Details are vague, but she's crooked.

Why do millions of people believe these blatant falsehoods? Because millions of people deliberately spread the lies - including a lot of supposed progressives.
"It was lies, I tell ya. ALL LIES!"

I'm only bringing the OP over. The rest is predictable.
Essentially any accusation (no matter how false) against Trump is always true.
All accusations against Hillary's lifetime of corruption are always false (no matter for all the facts supporting the accusation.

Is anyone really surprised that the US has abandoned its own media?

12. I heard comments of that sort from a surprising number

of people, and they were not rural, red state folks. The belief that Hillary was somehow crooked or corrupt was very widespread, even if the specifics - Benghazi, child prostitution out of the pizza parlor, that sort of thing - were not believed. If you try to rebut the Benghazi or emails stuff, the response was always something like, "Well, maybe she didn't do those things but she's just... crooked.

Man, does Trump know how to frame. the. ****ing. narrative. or what?   :lmao:

He coined that phrase first in my neck of the woods, at the airport in little old Dexter, NY :cheersmate:

Cattle futures.
Whitewater.
Rose law firm records missing but suddenly appearing.
500 FBI files in the White House basement.
Missile technology sold to the Chicoms for campaign money.
The attacks and lies about Bubbas rape and sex victims.
Trashing the White House and stealing contents.
The foundation slush fund.
The foreign policy disasters in Egypt and Libya.
The Benghazi lies.
The Email server and lies so obvious as to be insulting.

Those are just a few of the highlights over 25 years and they wonder how on earth people didn`t trust her.  :lmao:

That claim might be more convincing if your post didn't prove the opposite. There are scores, hundreds, of good reasons The SHREW-CHILL was rejected by so many states. That was just one, and a root cause of many of the good reasons for rejection.

But stay blind, keep denying, keep writing off huge portions of US voters. Then your 2018 blind-siding will be even greater than that of 2016.
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

The key fact in each point is correct, the analysis provided by the DUmmie is completely subjective and constructed to drag a red herring across the track of shame.

Benghazi - yes, that happened, she and Obozo are the guilty parties, and the story of what they said and did during the protracted death throes of the outpost remains clouded in complete secrecy.

Babies - pro-abortion, at any point prior to the kid looking you in the eye, with no restriction, is not a way to convince even the people with ambivalent feelings that you have a reasoned position.  She could have come out for a late-term ban and attracted non-absolutist women voters, but the absolute unfettered death warrant on the unborn was unacceptable for enough of them to tip the balance.

Emails - yes she tried to hide them, everything beyond that in the DU OP is a minimization or fantasy construct.

Lying and stealing - yes, the reason the details are vague is because she did her best to keep them that way.  The lying was pervasive, from Fast and Furious onward, and as far as money goes, it's telling that ol' yardwork couldn't manage to mention 'Clinton Foundation' or 'Clinton  Global Initiative' in connection with that item.

Question: Can Trump release the WH log for what happened that night, including any email/phone transcripts?

Doc, it depends on who the declassification authority for it is, but I expect that everyone around him will tell him it will do more damage than good.  You'd think the President could do about anything in this realm, but one kinda weird example - was it Carter or Clinton who was going to declassify all the UFO files, and yet it didn't happen - indicates otherwise.

What about the big lie that Hillary told about 95% of Clinton money Laundering Foundation went to the end user?

For the reality and arithmetic lurking DUchebags, the grifter Clinton family gives away less than 3%. THREE LOUSY PERCENT!!! Just imagine if hilary were not all about people and helping them.

$172,579,474 = bribes and payoff money for future services in screwing America over.
$5,160,385 = possible money give out for stated purpose to help people.

So maybe she thinks that charity begins at home in which case she does give away over 97% of her payoff, corruption, and bribe money to charity.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that shows they took in $170M, and paid out $84M of it in salaries and expenses, none of which was fundraising expenses (yep, people were just fighting over the right to give them money just cuz, not buying future access at all) which was a big fat zero. And they paid $5M towards programs. Walmart has a higher proportion of charitable donations.

It is statements like this why hiLIARy lost.  Not only do all Trump supporters know what it means but this was the most important moment of the campaign.  It galvanized support for Trump -- those on the fence took it as a direct insult aimed at them, thus pushing them into his camp, but the soft supporters became very hard supporters.

It was and is a rallying cry against liberal snobs who falsely think, as in this case, they are smarter and more informed than Republicans and conservatives.  Even now, when the truth that they are Pakleds is staring them in the face, they continue to think they are smart.

Of the 400 some paid employees plus Billy Jeff, Hitlary, and Chelsee, I bet $60 million plus goes to keeping the last three living large. Also another guess, but would be everything i own on it, Women are paid less than 70% of the men in the money laundering cartel.

Another fun fact, Hillary and BJ's tax returns show THEIR charitable giving all went to their own foundation.  Imagine a republican doing what they have done with their "charitable" foundation and their personal "charitable" giving.

The stupid snark aside, while The SHREW-CHILL calling half the people who would not vote for her, "Deplorables," had no effect on how the "Deplorables" voted, it did turn undecideds and weak Hillary voters against The SHREW-CHILL. It may have been one of those mistakes at the margins that turned the election against her.

As for conservatives knowing the meaning of the word "deplorable", I've seen a whole Hades of a lot more Malaprops and word meanings mistakes in DU posts C & Ped here (and not just nads' posts) than I have seen in CC members' own comments.
