1. Republicans, or Democrats, or Green Party members,
are not members of protected groups.
So yep, the restaurant can refuse to serve them.

If the owner doesn't want to serve McCheetoHead voters, that's their option.

OK!    :yahoo:  Keep doing what you're doing!   :cheersmate:

Restaurants are a dime a dozen, ya know.  And fail like houseflies.

Countdown to this cafeteria gong BK in 5...4...3...
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

How many liberals actually operate functional businesses?  Sure, some certainly have.  But overall the economic impact is minimal.

I'm curious as to how the restuarant would 'know' how an individual would have voted. Seems to me your vote is secret and private. Besides, they'll be closed within a year or two.

Since minorities and queers voted overwhelmingly for cankles it is a safe reason to refuse service to them?

This restaurant has the right to be this petty and stupid. As jukin said, I doubt that it will end well for them.

What if a handicapped lgbqt black person who voted for Trump went into this restaurant.  Would they be denied service?

It doesn't appear that many people (if any at all) will be inconvenienced by this refusal of service. According to this article, the building is up for sale, and the restaurant is on a month to month rental.  http://www.kitv.com/story/34150819/pbn-building-with-cafe-8-12-up-for-sale

Cafe 8 1/2 received national attention after the owner posted a sign telling Trump voters not to eat there.  PBN is reporting that Cafe 8 1/2 is on a month-to-month lease.

Note: PBN (mentioned in quote) is Pacific Business News
This too shall pass.

One ASSumption underlying the DU thread is that conservatives are as unprincipled as they are, and would condemn this cafe while affirming cake decorators', florists', photographers' rights to decline business that violates their religious beliefs.

In the real world, I (we) affirm this cafe's right to refuse to serve Trump voters. It's stupid, possibly "suicidal" (in a business sense), but it's their right.
