This should be required reading moving forward...because they need to be TOLD
It is an intellectual/linguistic sleight of hand meant to throw attention away from the real problem. The real problem isn’t east coast elites who don’t understand or care about rural America. The real problem is rural America doesn’t understand the causes of their own situations and fears and they have shown no interest in finding out. They don’t want to know why they feel the way they do or why they are struggling because they don’t want to admit it is in large part because of choices they’ve made and horrible things they’ve allowed themselves to believe.

I *promise*, and I am sure you know this as well as I do, they need to be TOLD. they don't want REASON. They don't want FACTS (they have a hard time with fact/opinion, and so the first one with a good, spiteful *zinger* wins). They don't want to have to think about it. They just want to be TOLD.
Seriously.
The answer is not to divide them from Trump. It's to tie them to him.

Standing on my patio, not for long though, it's freakin cold out there, I can see a republican super-majority in '18 with a minimum of 60 senators.

As long as these idiots continue to think the way they do about their rural counterparts, I can see that growing in '20.

It can basically be summed up as their same tired old message of "It's not that we're a bunch of condescending elitist jerks. It's that everyone in Flyover Country are a bunch of brainless, ignorant, inbred, Bible- thumping hillbillies who don't want to improve themselves and are jealous because they aren't as brilliant and enlightened as us."
In other words, he's encouraging his fellow ultra- liberals to not just continue, but double down on their elitist, condescending, better- than- everyone- else attitudes which did indeed help cost them the election.
I hope the DUmmies do indeed read and follow his cruel, hateful article to ensure that the results of the 2020 and 2024 elections will be just as enjoyable (For us, anyway) as this one.

It's weird, but reviling the people who voted against you isn't likely to win any of their votes in the next election. And who's wiser? Miss Buggy? Or the people with the knowledge and skills to grow the food she eats, grow or produce the fibers in the fabrics she wears, grow the timber under which she shelters, and design/produce the various appliances in her life (including the keyboard she uses to spew her drivel).

Yeah, I thought I recognized the drivel, but I think it was first posted on DU before Miss Buggy showed her proboscis over there. But it's good she recycled it, to remind saner people what Progs really think of them.
