Carrie Fisher in Critical Condition after heart attack on flight
« on: December 23, 2016, 04:48:33 PM »

Seems Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia on the original Star Wars, might not be long for this world. Had a massive heart attack on a flight. In critical condition.

She may be a lefty, but I hope she recovers. Star Wars wouldn't have been the same.

I agree. Helps that she was hawt as well!!!  I thought about using the picture of her at the feet of Jabba in the whatever-kini it was she wearing... figured that was not appropriate for several reasons.

Personally I don't give a damn what political persuasion actors/actresses are. If they are good in the role and entertain me, I'll watch the show.   :cheersmate:

I remember the time I saw Star Wars.  Dad took me and Brother Perky up to Charleston to the Capitol theater. On Saturday night. Unheard of.  Brother Perky and I figured it was gonna be some boring flick Dad liked or maybe a war movie. Mom and Little Sis Perky went to Charlie Brown movie somewhere else.

Keep in mind this was the mid 70's and things were tight at the Perky house.

We get there.  Place was packed. Usher sent us to the balcony. The opening came on and the first half of the film literally blew me away. At intermission, they had intermission in those days, Dad asked us if we had to pee and we said no!!!!!! Popcorn/candy? No!!! Drinks? NO!!!!!!  Well he had to pee so we went to pee. Got to the snack counter and he bought us all kinds of stuff.

Got home at midnight. Told Mom about it for half the night, she was a Star Trek fan like me, and she told Dad we were going back up there the next day to see it and that was that. So we all went up on Sunday and saw it again.   :lmao:

That movie is my #2 all time movie.  Wrath of Kahn is #1.    :cheersmate:

Same. Heard her interviews at times, and always liked her. Her whole weird life experience with celebrity parents, then being thrust into the spotlight with Star Wars at a young age.  Must have been weird.

Hopefully she will be OK.

I was a little runt when that came out and I remember that night as well.
Ever watch that episode of That 70's Show where they all went to see Star wars? That's pretty much the face I had on when I walked out of the movie theater too.

Yes I did see that episode. I loved that series... especially the early ones.  They were hilarious.   :cheersmate:

The part where she is in stable condition was wrong. Her brother mistakenly said so.
Carrie is still in ICU, and has not left intensive care.
