Mr. Wiggum has now sent me the names of the certified winners of all the Top DUmmie awards for 2017.

Other than the main one, the #01 Top DUmmie of 2017, they're all floor-smacking surprises. 

December 24: the William Rivers Pitt award (for lifetime achievement)
December 24: #10 Top DUmmie of 2016

December 25: #09 Top DUmmie of 2016
December 25: #08 Top DUmmie of 2016

December 26: #07 Top DUmmie of 2016

December 27: no award given out

December 28: #06 Top DUmmie of 2016

December 29: #05 Top DUmmie of 2016
December 29: #04 Top DUmmie of 2016

December 30: #03 Top DUmmie of 2016
December 30: #02 Top DUmmie of 2016

December 31: the franksolich (for the primitive who should've won a top DUmmiehood but didn't)
December 31: #01 Top DUmmie of 2016

These awards by the way are written off the top of my head, and usually posted right as I finish writing them.  I "play around" with ideas for certain potential top DUmmies all year long, but it's always happened that when it's finally time to put them out, I say, "oh, screw that," toss it, and write something new.

And.....the sad part is.....

The #02 Top DUmmie, the second-placer, clear down to the #17 Top DUmmie, are separated by a total of.....sixteen votes.

That's right; one single solitary vote determined each of the rest of the order.

Which I really hope illustrates the blunt fact that every vote counts, every vote matters, and so one should vote.

The weather has screwed up my travel plans considerably, although unlike Attila Marc the Hun, I don't consider this a holiday from Hell.  Disruption of plans is a fact of life, and generally those of us past six years old accept it and adapt.

But I dunno what's going to happen now, with releasement of the awards, other than those for Christmas Eve and those for New Year's Eve.  I can say the big one, the top award, the #01 Top DUmmie of 2016, should come out as announced, on New Year's Eve, but anything in between now and then, all the other awards, I can't say.

The William Rivers Pitt, the "lifetime achievement" award, will come out sometime this afternoon, and the #10 Top DUmmie of 2016 sometime this evening.  After that, we'll see.

The Buggy Miss suffered from being a late-comer. She shows great potential for 2017, but I fear she might not go the distance, like a 4-hour marathon runner who sprints from the start, imaging they could run a 2-hour marathon.

LLP just didn't try. She was as lazy about campaigning for DOTY as she is about keeping her apartment (or does she call it a "flat"?) clean (I hope she NEVER gets a parrot!).

Yeah, the ladybug primitive never even showed up on anyone's radar until voting was close to ending.  She had a strong start, but started w-a-a-a-a-a-y too late.

The Brahmin primitive, the lioness bitch, being who she is, of course doesn't try; she's from one of the upppermost castes in India; she doesn't have to, as she's used to having lesser people do things for her.
