This is a thousand times worse than 2000.

And 2000 was utterly depressing in its own right. I've had a pit in my stomach since election night. I don't even know what to do anymore. I've never felt so lost and worried about the future of my country.

As much as 2000 left me reeling, 2016 is that and more. Maybe it's because, in 2000, we didn't know how bad it would get ... and now we do ... and as bad as Bush was, as bad as his administration was, Trump's seems to be worse in every facet - and he's buddies with our global adversary.

This not only repulses me, the uptick in racism and bigotry as well as the literal coup by a foreign government, but it scares me.

I'm terrified.

You really should just off yourself now... before we come to get you and put you in the camps.

really.

should.

Gore really won that election, so that result was harder for me to take. But while I had major fears about Bush, they pale in comparison to what this asshole is capable of.

35. I am terrified for many in the world.

If this lunatic gets in the WH much misery will ensue, no doubt. I have not been crying or had a pit in my stomach though. I do not look at newspapers or intake news though because it is all so sickening.

I withdraw. My current situation allows it and so I do it. Working 10 pm to 6 am doing baker duty then 7 am to 11 am for another company, making pasta--averaging 70+ hrs a week. I bank as much as I can. I will buy a house (something I have really wanted to do since my divorce 8 years ago) in a small town here in MI. It'll be my retirement home and it will occupy my time off (the one I currently consider needs much cosmetic work).

I really see no other way for myself. I will contribute to the efforts financially but other than that, no, too busy focusing on establishing *some* security in a volatile world. I cannot afford the sucking of my energy into a vortex of frustration by closely following the horrors about to befall us. I rode that roller-coaster during the Bush years and it was hard. In that time I had a different life in a different world and could spare the time and energy. Now I need to survive and finish my climb out of the "barely subsisting" existence and, I daresay, I think the timing is fortunate.

As always, good to see you DI. We will make it through somehow.

Julie

39. That is about the exact text conversation i had with my son on the morning of

11/09!

My kids are young adults now, and they keep an eye on politics, not to the extent i do, but they pay attention and try to learn. I feel so bad now for showing them this. I wish they could just be "ignorant" of things, like so many citizens are now. Maybe it would hurt less.
But, it is the world they have grown up to be in...

I never dreamed that in my life time I would see anyone worse than bu$h and his cronies! it is hard to watch, but I can't turn away!

I cry for the earth and more so with each of the orange one's cabinet picks.

Democrats have not fought back in the past and now here we are. Massive strike is what they need to be saying instead I have them calling me for money. Like we can win elections with treason by FBI and GOP. Please. We have no leadership and I will blame Obama if he hands the keys to this monster.

" Trump's seems to be worse in every facet - and he's buddies with our global adversary."
The funny thing is, Russia wasn't really our adversary (Post- Cold War, anyway) before a few years ago when Obama started pissing them off with his typical arrogance and nearly driving us into another war. For just one example of this, my older brother is in Russia, where he for the last several years has been a college professor in Moscow. He got that position because, in 2010, the school made a point of deliberately seeking out and hiring a bunch of American academics to be part of the school's faculty, as a token of goodwill between the US and Russia. Such an offer would never have been made in the last three years or so when Obama was determined to make Russia our enemy again. Now, in contrast, almost as soon as Trump was elected, Russia's leaders openly expressed their deep desire to do whatever they can to ensure peace with us.

It was Lincoln. Lincoln was the 16th president. He is also on the $5 bill. Subract that from 16 and you get 11. Three weeks ago, I paid $9.12 for tacos, but I was short a penny, but the cashier let it go. Lincoln is also on a penny. Coincidence?

So weird, about that same time I to was buying tacos, the total came to 8.99. I gave the cashier a $9.00 bill (my only one) and told her to keep the change.  The change would have been a penny and if i'm not mistaken would have had Lincoln on it. The most amazing part however.....when I left the taco store I pulled out behind a pickup truck with a Hillary bumper sticker loaded with chicken wire and cinder blocks! No way that's all just a coincidence!

If your schadenboner lasts longer than eight years please see a doctor....immediately!!!!
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
