7 Million Security Price Tag Protect Trump Family Over Thanksgiving.

This little report was on the news. On top of that it is estimated that it will take $2 million a day to protect Trump and his family under normal conditions. Please send your Social Security check.

**** you with an amputated right foot, Bob. I wonder how much we wasted on security for 0bumbles and his First Wookkie?

The Daily Caller reported in 2010 that in a largely unprecedented move, Jarrett and David Axelrod, another senior adviser who has since left the White House, were being driven to work by government drivers and that Jarrett had been made a “protectee” of the Secret Service.

Jarrett has refused to discuss why she has been assigned Secret Service when questioned by reporters.

In April 2012, The Daily Caller filed a Freedom of Information Act request for details from the Department of Homeland Security about the cost of Jarrett’s protection. That request has not yet been fulfilled.

I suspect this $7M "price tag" includes a hefty amount of $$ paying for one-time security infrastructure costs, just as the Secret Service did in the Obama's Chicago house in 2008/9, Bush's ranch in 2000/1, Kennebunkport in 1988/9, Reagan's ranch in 1980/1 ... .

Did the Clintons ever visit whatever home they had in AR when they wanted a bit of rest? Did the Obamas spend much time at their Chicago home? My memory is both the Clintons and the Obamas jet-setted, outside of the US, or in the Obama's case, sometimes to Hawaii and Martha's Vineyard. Their vay-cay places were not only expensive resorts, but temporary rentals. IOW, instead of a place the Secret Service could set up and tear down, once, the Secret Service had to set up and tear down security at numerous locations, and find temporary housing for agents in very expensive places (compared to Crawford, Kennebunkport, Santa Barbara, or Plains).

IOW, TMN isn't really complaining about the cost, he's complaining that the Trumps are being protected.

One also has to wonder how much extra this is costing because of all the cretins who are out there breaking and burning cities, trying to destroy the Trump tower in Manhattan, from coast to coast. I'm all but certain there is a heightened level of manpower on duty as a direct result of the butthurt riots that are being fueled.
On a different note, I've been wondering the The Donald is going to use AF1, or if he will keep using his own so he can avoid the lingering smell that has probably permeated AF1.

Michelle Obama's vacations, Obama's golf outings, and the Obama's constant use of separate planes (including one for their dog), cost far more. Someone please ask crazy old Bob to defend that.

Lest We Forget, Part 1.

Lest We Forget, Part 2.

Lest We Forget, Part 3.

Going a bit farther, complaining about Presidents' "vacations" has been a political cottage industry, for Ds and Rs, since Reagan (if not earlier). But from Reagan onward there is a difference between D and R Presidents in one vital respect. Reagan, G. H. W. Bush. and G. W. Bush went most often to their own properties. The Secret Service and other relevant agencies were able to set up robust semi-permanent communications facilities, allowing Reagan, Bush, and Bush to conduct business while on vay-cay as smoothly as when in the WH. Clinton and Obama have been jet-setters, and communications arrangements have been, necessarily, temporary - simpler, and potentially less robust.
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.
