It would be a great shame, as members of the Left and of the Right and of a wide political spectrum enjoyed the conversations we had on Discussionist.

DI was truly hated by many of the DU denizens for the freedoms Discussionist had, and they were especially annoyed that Skinner (Naveed on DI) would allow such a politically wide-ranging  offspring to emerge from DU, a "safe space" for the Democratic Deluded for whom Hillary had become the Queen Mother in the last few months, before she was ridden out of town, tarred and feathered on a political "rail."

At one point a few months back he said it was making a small profit. I started one appreciation  thread mentioning that I was willing to donate to DI in the same way as DU members were, but nothing was ever said about it. I'm afraid that the election result is too much to be borne, coupled with the cries of Conservative joy awaiting the lefties who would dare return to DI should the site return...
