First post election bouncy

I've known him since 1963.
We were squadron mates flying fighters in the Air Force.
He was my best man at our wedding in 1969.
He is 76 and I am 75.
He lives a couple of blocks from me.
We walk through the neighborhood, a couple of miles, every morning.
He claims to be an independent voter, but he's really a conservative Republican.

I commented that Reince Priebus had been named chief of staff.
"Yeah? Who's he?"
"The head of the RNC."
"The what?"
The Republican National Committee."
"Oh."

I mentioned Breitbart.
"What's that?"
"It's an alt conservative website."
"What's alt conservative?"
"It's the racist, far right wing of the Republican party. Have you ever looked at it?"
"Nope. Never heard of it."
"Trump just named the head of the website as his main advisor. Steve Bannon. Ever heard of him?"
"Nope. I don't think Trump's a racist. He's gonna appoint Dr. Ben Carson to his cabinet."

This is not a stupid guy.
Has a graduate degree in electrical engineering from the U. of Alabama
Was a captain for a major international airline for 30+ years.
He is totally clueless when it come to public affairs and he is driving me nuts.

Well at least he got the verbatim conversation in.  Very poor entertainment value to the bouncy, though.

Maybe he really is independent and doesn't follow politics with bated breath like you mutts do.  I can't keep track of who's running the democraps from one day to the next; they keep getting fired or resigning or some such.  I keep waiting for one of them to have a "suicide."
