UPDATE MONDAY 11/14/2016 3:00PM ET http://www.democraticunderground.com/503.php?com=forum&id=1002
Over the weekend we announced that DU would hopefully be back up on Monday or Tuesday. At this point we are very optimistic that the site will be back up on Tuesday afternoon. When DU comes back up, access will be granted to Star Members only on a temporary basis. For more information about this, please see the update below.
Thanks again for your patience and understanding -- see you all soon.
Maybe it's gonna be another 24 business hours...
The site was first attacked around 4:30PM ET on Tuesday afternoon. This was not a "typical" hack like a DDoS or an attempt to gain control of our web server. Instead, the hacker had found a vulnerability in our forum software.
The hacker exploited that vulnerability in what appeared to be a politically-motivated act of vandalism: A large number of posts were removed and replaced with the words "God Emperor" (a reference to Donald Trump), and a ridiculously over-the-top pro-Trump video was served automatically to all of our visitors. If you're curious you can watch the video on YouTube (WARNING: HATE CONTENT).
LOL
The God Emperor of Mankind is a term used in miniature wargame Warhammer 40K.
http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Emperor_of_MankindThe Emperor of Mankind is the immortal ruling monarch of the Imperium of Man, and is described by the Imperial Ecclesiarchy and the Imperial Cult as the Father, Guardian and God of humanity.

hardly Donald Trump
The practice of using this name for Trump apparently caught on last spring. New York Times reporter Jonathan Weisman wrote in May about the deluge of anti-Semitic hate he’d received from self-identified Trump supporters, including “Nazi iconography of the shiftless, hooknosed Jew†from a user called “Trump God Emperor.â€
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-god-emperor-creepy-reddit_us_579a6970e4b08a8e8b5d38b5So... the term was first used back in September by a foul mouth anti-semite (real identity unknown) reported by Huffpo? Yeah... that doesn't smack of some little left making shit up to \prove how violent' Trump is.
The most popular forum posts from the last month include one complaining that the media paid too much attention to a black police officer who was shot.

Yeah- obvious Trump supporter...
NBC News reported. “Its moderators have clashed over its direction and at times struggled to keep the site from being overrun by white supremacist and neo-Nazi Trump supporters.â€
Why haven't any of you heard about this? Because it's almost exclusively talked about on left leaning forums and websites.
I'm a diehard Bernie supporter and I will be voting for the smoothest centipede, God Emperor DONALD J. TRUMP this November.

The alt-right is united less by ideology than by sensibility; a hallmark of that sensibility is a careful attunement to social norms, and a perverse delight in desecrating them.
http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/the-alt-right-hails-its-victorious-god-emperorIn August of last year, Ann Coulter, a forerunner of the alt-right who once seemed like a punchline and now seems like a prophet, introduced Trump at a rally in Iowa. Coulter’s position on immigration—white nationalism, essentially—was then outside the Overton window, and Trump was the only candidate who embraced it.
The morning after the election, an influential alt-right blogger who goes by Vox Day wrote, “Donald Trump has a lot to do . . . It is the Alt-Right’s job to move the Overton Window and give him conceptual room to work.†Day and his peers have been doing this job for months. They have flooded the Internet with offensive images and words—cartoon frogs emblazoned with swastikas, theories of racial hierarchy—and then ridiculed anyone who had the temerity to be offended. “Racism and sexism are a) human beliefs, and, b) as legitimately held as any other belief,†Day told me in a recent e-mail. No picture is shocking. No idea is bad. Who gets to define bad, anyway? “Remember that rhetoric is the art of emotional manipulation,†Day added. Last week, on his blog, Day wrote, “There is no more Republican vs. Democrat. It is now whites vs. non-whites and white quislings.â€
This sounds like exactly the picture that Leftists have of the right- One that doesn't exist in reality any only by creating them by their own actions do they reenforce their twisted viewpoint on the world.
How many times have we seen breathless news reports on some vile racist hate crime only to learn later it was just another hoax.
This is another one.
AND now- our very first Bouncy tale from teh New Yorker (since DU is tit's up we have to settle for the inferior options):
[SO]On Election Day, I stood outside a small Methodist church in Greensboro, North Carolina, that was serving as a polling place. Standing next to me, passing out flyers promoting a candidate for district-court judge, was a man named Larry, an African-American in his sixties. He made amiable small talk with everyone who passed, including people wearing pro-Trump T-shirts. “I know I don’t want that crazy man to be President, but I don’t have hate in my heart for anybody,†he said. Just before nightfall, a white man with a gray beard left the polls. On his way to the parking lot, he stopped in front of Larry and delivered an unsolicited monologue about why he had just cast his vote for Trump. “Bill Clinton has an illegitimate mulatto child—you know that, don’t you?†the man said. “That’s fine; I’m O.K. with mixed people, but I’m just saying—why doesn’t he talk about it?†The man mentioned George Wallace, and segregation, and the myriad pathologies he ascribed to “the inner city.†Larry looked at the pavement and didn’t say much. Eventually, the man got in his car and drove away. When he was gone, Larry said, “I’ve seen a lot in this state. I’ve known people whose kin got lynched. In the last twenty years, or thirty, you didn’t hear people saying the things that man said. These days, suddenly, they feel like they’re allowed to say it.â€
No cops... No bushes... eh...

Donald Trump’s Online Trolls Turn on Their ‘God Emperor’
The alt-right diehards of 4chan, who’ve helped power the GOP nominee’s campaign with racist memes, were none too thrilled about his ‘400-pound’ hacker comment at the first debate. They still brigaded online polls in his name anyway.

Oh look- back in september it was all over.

“They’re actually complaining about him losing, and describing how they feel let down,†wrote one user. “Amid some chirps of Hillary Clinton super PAC Correct the Record infiltrating their board.â€
