To explain some things -
A
pageview is getting presented a complete page with text graphics, etc. a
page hit includes partial elements - Like linking a picture hosted on The Cave someplace else, an error page, etc etc.
Now considering that The Cave is mostly text - what graphics are hosted here are essentially page elements, emoticons, and avatars - most of the other photos , YouTube videos etc are hosted at other locations and are not counted in the bandwidth beyond the text in the post(s) that link them. The Cave also compresses everything that goes out, making the user's browser decompress and display the data, as it reduces the bandwidth consumed here. Text compresses down to almost nothing.
So, when one considers we are now pushing better than a GB of data a day between bots and humans, we are doing pretty well for such a 'small' site.
