Hi guys!
I'm sure you are all stumbling around today wondering, "Why, why, WHY?????" How could this have happened? You were sure, positive, in fact that there was no way on Gaia's green earth that Donald Trump and his basket of deplorables could possibly beat the first woman presidential candidate.
Let me explain this to you:
First, a disclaimer: I wasn't ever a Trump supporter. When he announced his candidacy I was annoyed. He was going to be a YUGE distraction from a serious event. Then I was worried. I expected that he would lose the nomination, but run as a third party candidate and throw the election to a Clinton, just as H. Ross Perot did. As the primaries progressed, I became distraught. He was going to get the nomination, steal the election for Broomhilda. I am as surprised as any of you that he won.
But, I understand it, and want you to understand, too.
The Republicans should have won in 2012. The electorate had been upset about Obamacare since 2009, and the election of Scott Brown to the Senate from Massachusetts (Massachusetts!!) proved it, as did the 2010 mid-terms. The economy was in the toilet, labor participation was down, food stamp participation was waaaaay up, the Middle East was a mess, etc., etc.
But every single R candidate allowed the corrupt and biased media to define them. Remember Rick Perry? He had a hunting camp, that had a racial epithet as a name!!!! That made him a RACIST, and therefore unqualified to be president. Of course, the camp was leased, and probably had already been named at the time of the lease. Besides which, it was his father's camp. And besides that, it was probably leased and used while Rick Perry was still a Democrat. Didn't matter. The Washington Post sent a reporter to Texas, who managed to actually discover a rock with the name on it. Of course the rock had been painted over, but you could still see parts of a couple of letters. And, there you have it. Rick Perry, proven racist.

The Republicans nominated Mitt Romney to run against Jughead. He was a good man, a good candidate, and would have made a very good president. But he allowed a corrupt and biased media to define him.
Think of what you know about him. He gave a woman cancer--and she died!! When he was 16 he cut a kid's hair--and he might have been gay!! Oh, and he had a car elevator. I waited for him to fight back against stupid, bogus, and irrelevant allegations, but he never did. He had too much class.
Remember the debate between VP candidate Paul Ryan and Uncle Chuckles? While Ryan made his case in a serious, factual way, the sitting VP giggled his way through the whole debate, like your slightly senile grandfather with pseudo bulbar affect. And the moderator--Martha Raddatz--allowed it.
We all wanted our candidates to fight back. To refute the idiocy. Maybe even to give back as good as they got. They never did.
Donald Trump fought back--against everyone. He was not going to sit back and allow the media to define him. He didn't pick his battles, he chose to fight them all.
One final thought: The media was the biggest loser in this election. They were finally revealed to be in the Democrats' pocket. From Donna Brazile at CNN feeding the debate questions to the Broomhilda campaign, to the media asking the campaign what interview questions they (the campaign) wanted an interviewer to ask. to the Detroit Free Press calling the election--for Hillary--by 9:00 on election night. Actually, Trump was never behind in Michigan, and as of this writing, 11:20 a.m. the day after the election, Michigan has not been officially called, and Trump still leads.
Some of us have known all along how biased they are, but now all of the country knows it, and will never believe them again.
