Doug Band was a Bill Clinton assistant who helped to found the Clinton Global Initiative and worked for the Clinton Foundation. He also ran Teneo, a consulting firm.
Band criticizes Chelsea Clinton repeatedly in the emails, yet this is the most pointed email so far. He is upset that Chelsea apparently not only launched an investigation into what was going on at the Clinton Foundation, but that she was also talking about it to the young Barbara Bush, George W. Bush’s daughter.
Podesta says that’s not smart.
Band then threatens, if she wants to go down that road, let’s talk about the improper things she has done, i.e. using Foundation funds for her wedding and living expenses. He also appears to be saying that she improperly took money for campaigning and didn’t pay taxes on money received from her parents.
The Clintons have claimed that they take no compensation from the Clinton Foundation. Chelsea is listed as receiving no pay.
