I like the idea put forward some years ago that the US should have ceremonial figureheads - like a kind of elected royalty - to do things like official receptions, turkey pardoning, funeral attending, etc., to decouple the showmanship of the office from its actual functions.

Like an Official Master/Mistress of Ceremonies. We could put their pictures on currency... whatever.

The weird thing here is that the proper form of address for Bill Clinton is "President Clinton". However, I personally prefer the "Mr./Mrs./Ms./Miss" format which emphasizes that the President is not royal, and is simply a citizen who has been elected to an office.

The appellation assigned to Mr. Clinton, whatever it is, will be the first nontroversy of the administration. Conservatives will seek to impeach Mrs. Clinton for violation of the Constitutional ban on titles of nobility. Bet on it.

Conservatives are not petty like liberals.

We have issues of substance to arrest hiLIARy on.  If, God forbid, need be, they are impeachable offenses and THAT will be the basis for the successful impeachment.
