Please do not use "Democrat" as an adjective on DU.

That usage was promoted by Newt Gingrich as a minimizing agitprop strategy back in the 1990s.

Democrat is a noun. Democratic is an adjective.

Democrats vote. Democratic voters vote. Democrat voters do not exist.

There is no Democrat Party. Democrat is a noun. The correct form is Democratic Party.

There are no Democrat legislators. There are Democratic legislators, Congress members and Senators. Democrat is a noun, not an adjective.

There has never been a Democrat President. There have been several Democratic Presidents.

This rule should be strictly followed by Democrats when referring to other Democrats. We need to get it right, each time and every time. Otherwise Newt Gingrich wins.

Democrat is a noun. Democratic is an adjective.

I'm still confused. Are you a demon rat? Or a demon rat tick?

By the way, do you realize just how f-ed up you seem to normal people when you bitch about a little "ic"?

So where does fascist democrat fall?

you know other than in the completely true column.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

no, the usage is promoted by how much you DUmmies get your panties in a bunch anytime the the word is used as an adjective, thus prompting us to use it often to watch you morons melt down, much to our amusement.

DUmbass needs to do some basic research before posting screeds....

History of usage[edit]
The history of the term has been a subject of interest to scholars.[1][8][10][11] The Oxford English Dictionary, traces the use of the term back to 1890: "Whether a little farmer from South Carolina named Tillman is going to rule the Democrat Party in America—yet it is this, and not output, on which the proximate value of silver depends."[12] However the term was in use much earlier in the 19th century.[13] For example, in an 1834 story of politics in a small Vermont town as seen through the eyes of a young girl, the American novelist Catharine Maria Sedgwick wrote: "There was a weekly journal published in Carrington, the 'Star' or 'Sun', I forget which, but certainly the ascendant luminary of the democrat party."[14]

and there is this as well...

In American history, many parties were named by their opponents (Federalists, Loco-Focos, Know Nothings, Populists, Dixiecrats), including the Democrats themselves, as the Federalists in the 1790s used "Democratic Party" as a term of ridicule.[44]

So.. Rockhead -- your screed is invalid.  Try again.

Getting them to actively embrace the insult is perhaps one of the most amusing capers the VRWC has ever pulled.

Nothing says tolerant, liberal, or democratic like totalitarian policies.

Alright, how about we use it as a verb instead?

dem-o-crat: verb (past tense: democratted)

to destroy the integrity of; cause to be dishonest, disloyal, etc., especially by bribery.

to alter (a language, text, etc.) for the worse; debase.

to infect; taint.

syn: defile, taint, degrade, corrupt
