I am SO DONE with Sunday news programs

I’ve always tried to take in things like Face the Nation, Meet the Press, This Week with George Steph.

Not today. Not next Sunday. I’m fed up to my eyeballs with the propaganda, the hand wringing, the dire warnings up imminent collapse of the western world.

Nope. Not today.

1. It's a beautiful autumn day where I am.

Crisp temps, gorgeous foliage. I’ll spend as much time outdoors as possible and try to forget the whole flippin’ mess for awhile! No punditry for me today, either!

2. I have been boycotting the Sunday news programs for years now.

It is nothing but propaganda. Period. Their aim is to direct our thinking. They frame the questions in a way to manipulate the guest and the audience.

They do not deserve you!

4. Yes

They have been proclaiming her coronation pretty much since July at the DNC.   Notice how Hollywood is now doing her campaigning.  She has kicked back and is only doing appearances on Ellen or Late Night Shows.

9. Exactly. The MSM is nothing but a propaganda machine.

15. Agree 100%. I don't even think about those shows anymore!

And I used to be a Sunday morning news show junkie!

3. I realized it the last big election.

Nate Silver had Obama winning easily.  All the talking head shows were hand wringing about how close it was.  The only exception was This Week with George S.  Oh, they spun it but at the end George made them all predict who was going to win.  Everyone conceded Obama.

I saw George Steph… a few years later (he’s shorter than you think he is).  I thanked him for being the only show that finally told us the truth, because we already had Nate Silver 538.  I hope he remembers that voters need facts and truth, because he’s the only one who gave it.

The rest of the field of talking heads are selling drama!  That’s why the NYT’s political reporters hate Nate.

6. Nate 538 is himself part of the DC-Hollywood politainment complex. He was on

Colbert the other night.  And, he doesn’t always tell the truth and get it right, as we saw during the Democratic primaries.

10. I respectfully disagree.

Nates predictive powers, for general elections, stand for themselves.  99 percent accuracy.  It’s just math.  Beware drama queen/political reporters.  He’s a great check on them.

16. He *used to be* objective, but now I suspect he's been assimilated.

People who have credibility are the most valuable people of all to the propaganda machine. Just think of Obama, and the ride he’s taken us all on!

11. The NYT is a piece of shit — wall to wall pro-Clinton propaganda.

Has been that way since the start of the primary season. No integrity.  Zero.

5. I used to watch those programs with my grandfather

back in the ’60s and ’70s (ABC had Issues and Answers in those days). They certainly seemed to be more balanced and serious back then. I tried watching some of those programs recently and you’re right, they’re just dreck now. A regular gag-fest.

7. I gave them up years ago.

In fact, the only TV news I take in is local news and I really only watch that for the weather/boating reports as they are usually really accurate.

I’ve found I’m actually more informed about our politics by not paying attention to the spin.

17. Me too – it's just local news for me, and not even every night.

I wish we had objective reporting at the national level that I could trust. But until we do, we just have to fend for ourselves, on the vast web of truth and lies and mass confusion that is the internet.

8. I used to faithfully record all three shows.

plus two from PBS.

After the last Democratic Primary, I’ve gotten a whole different perspective.

I’ll still briefly tune in to Chuck Todd on occasion. But that’s it.

I’ll stick with the internet.

13. I don't watch those shows,

but I definitely have election burnout.  I can’t wait for my Facebook feed to return to kitty videos.

14. The only one of those crapfests I ever watched was MTP

And I gave that up in 2004 after watching Fat Timmeh give Cheney an on air BJ one Sunday.

I’d have to say it’s done wonders for the ol BP.

18. LOL

That was quite a description but an apt one. I haven’t subjected my “beautiful mind” to their bloviating, lying crapaganda ever since the Bushco years. The pain was too intense.

Hmmmmm.

One wonders why it's taken Manny's jackass primitives decades to figure out something's wrong with the state of the media.

This side's been aware of it since.....well, since at least 1932, about the time journalists ceased being reporters and became publicists for celebrities.

What are they mad about?
The media has all but declared Trump is an enemy of the state?

What are they mad about?

Manny's jackass primitives are mad, resentful, angry, about just about anything and everything; they're very negative people.

They make Skins's primitives look paragons of bonhomie.
