Don't know how to cope with this.

Never had any bugs in my house except for an occasional spider. Yesterday, I had a shock. For the past few days, I have seen a couple of tiny black bugs on my counter. Not ants.
I squished them and thought no more about it until I went into my cupboard next to the stove and picked up a box of pasta. The thing was covered with these bugs. They look like large fleas. Holy moses, now what?

I took everything out of the cupboard, threw it all in a big plastic bag, sealed it up and took it outside. I then moved the cupboard and stove. There were hundreds of these nasty buggers in and around the cupboard and under the stove. All over the floor too. I did the only thing I could do, I sprayed everything with Raid and and Roach killer. Soaked the heck out of everything. It killed what I could see. Cleaned up the carcasses and will today, move everything again and see what lurks.
I hope nothing more. Any idea what I should use to wash everything down? Lysol?
When I removed the food, a bag of dry black eye peas was open, a bunch of these bugs came running out. I bought them Monday and feel the bugs must have come from that bag.

Assuming I have done the job, how long before I can use the cupboard again. I took all the pans that were in the stove drawer and washed them. A ton of food wasted, now I don't know how to proceed.
I never saw anything like this. Tried to ID the bugs on line but could not find out what they were or how to best cope now and how to proceed.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

sounds like you are really infestated with the critters.  Best course of action would be a scorched earth policy and firebomb the place.  You might want to seek the assistance of members of the democrat party in Orange County, North Carolina since they seem to be experienced in that sort of thing.

Don't forget - for some, DU accounts for a large percentage of their social interaction.  The stories, which are likely embellished or completely fabricated, are put out there to get some sort of reaction.

If I had an unfortunate insect infestation, I wouldn't run to a forum with people I socialize with internet-wise.  They would think I was gross and a bad housekeeper.  I would clean with bleach and call in a professional.

You forgot to tell the dummie exactly how to accomplish that task on her own.  The dems are not gonna help her do that. They only burn down GOP places.

The easiest way to get rid of all these bugs dummie is to do the following:

Mix up some bleach and ammonia with some boiling hot water. 40:40:20 works.
Close all windows and duct tape them shut.  Turn on your oven after shutting off the pilot light. Take the mixture and wipe down every surface in your house.

When that is completed, you are finished!  Light up a joint to celebrate!

Probably some type of synthetic combination but who knows? One has a water stain. I didn't know a window was open. Left a rusty line on the fabric when it dried.

What say you, do I dare "shout " the stain, soak a while, wash in cold water, hang on the line, then iron myself?
The cleaners in my area want $25.00 a panel to clean. I have a total of 12 panels. Obviously out of my budget.
Scared to try, can't afford to pay.

The curtains are otherwise in great shape.
I need some encouragement...want to do the work myself but am scared I'll ruin everything. Anyone here tried this?
