Smart Parasite, Stupid Parasite

Back in college biology I was fascinated to learn of dicrocheles phalaenodectes, a parasitic mite that that takes up residence in the ears of certain moths. The mites destroys the hearing in those ears they colonize, but there’s a potential problem: the moths depend on their ears to hear incoming bats that like to chomp ’em. If the moths can’t hear, they get chomped, and the parasite dies along with the mites. So to keep their hosts alive, the mites will only colonize one ear of any given moth, leaving the other ear available to hear and avoid bats. The mites have enough sense to know that if your host dies, you have nothing left to eat. Smart parasite!

In November, we will choose one of two parasites to lead our country. And that will suck.

Hillary Clinton is indeed a parasite, but she strikes me as a thoughtful parasite, one who wants to maximize her blood-feast, one who knows enough that if the world blows up, the blood-feast is gone. If we die, she and her cabal will have nobody left to suck the life from.

Trump, on the other hand… when someone says stuff like “Somebody hits us within ISIS — you wouldn’t fight back with a nuke?“, I’m thinking dumb parasite. He’s tried to blow himself up for decades, but his inheritance has insulated him from success. But give him enough power, and he might get the job done.

So that’s what I’m thinking, at least at this moment. We can only change things if we’re alive, so let’s do what we can to keep us that way. I now take my place in the Land of Traitordom, a tiny speck in the shadows of my fellow residents Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

That being said… us traitors should resolve to do what we can to make sure that Clinton is harmed as badly as possible in winning. Better a weak Clinton than Trump – I suspect that Bernie, Elizabeth and I all agree with that, and we’ll work for that.

It's like clockwork, the whackos are stuck on the plantation and can't leave even if they claim they do. They talk a big game, but when push comes to shove the children just want someone to lead them around by the nose, tell them what to do, and tuck them into bed at night with a big sloppy kiss.

Well, thus far Manny's thread's gotten 95 replies, nearly all of them disagreeing with him.

But Manny need not worry; they'll all have come around within two weeks.

I suspect Manny started that thread because he knows the Bernie bullies will be walking all over each other in their frantic rush to re-join Skins's island, and he hopes to be one of the first back on board.
