Why Donald Trump's suits don't fit _ like someone with zero money

http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/fashion/why-donald-trumps-suits-dont-fit-20161013-gs245b.html

Whenever US Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton steps out, every detail of her outfit – typically her trademark trousers suit – is analysed from colour to cuff to designer.

The same can't be said for her Republican candidate Donald Trump. Apart from questions arising about the veracity of his strawberry-blond combover and jibes about his tangerine glow, there has been little commentary based on his appearance, particularly his preferred uniform of a presidential blue suit, white shirt and red tie.

Trump's suits fit like someone who has zero money," one wrote on Twitter, while another added: "For someone who is as rich as Donald Trump you'd think he would have better tailored suits."

"Knowing his personality, it looks as if Trump is trying achieve an all-imposing look. The bigger the suit, the less you can ignore," Jatin Vengurlekar, creative director at Montagio custom tailoring in Sydney, told Fairfax Media.

He added: "Sometimes older men prefer that bigger fit as it is more comfortable, especially when they wear it all day long. But even for a man of his size and height it is too oversized and does not flatter his physique. It makes him look larger and a bit daggy."

When it comes to the often shiny nature of the billionaire businessman's preferred fabric, Wharton and Vengurlekar say it could signify two fibres – either expensive silk or affordable polyester.

"If his suits are made by Brioni it is definitely a silk blend. A tailored suit by them can cost anything between $6000 and $8000 – they would not be using polyester."

Dirty hippies and St. Vincent DePaul shoppers criticize Trump's sartorial choices.  From the photos of the primitives that I've seen, they all look like piss bums from down on skid row.  They all think that they're so smart, here they try to tell a classy guy like Trump how to dress himself.

1. I'm middle-class, and I dress WAY better than The Donald.

I've been rolling my eyes at his too-long necktie for over a year.

One would think he'd have a fashion advisor to coach him on the basics of business-wear. But I supposed he's too egotistical to follow good advice...

13. They are the very definition of ill fitted- roundish men can and do wear better fitting suits he's

Just trying to look more imposing with those ridiculous shoulders. It's also fairly cheap looking tailoring, I'm guessing his tailor hates him- because he insisted on this crap shape and is a cheapskate to boot.
Garage sale habitué who got a Martha Stewart sweater for a dollar--talked them down from the marked price of 2 dollars.

3. I noticed how big the trouser legs were in

The last debate. I asked my husband why would that be....since I assumed they are custom and very expensive. He speculated that it was due to a large waist -- who knows.

I agree with you--they are not at all flattering.
Plus sized QVC shopper--utilizes EZPay.

I dare anyone to look through the repository primitive photos and find even one that looks halfway as decent as Trump does on any given day.

I'm not voting for the guy, but I have no problem saying he dresses better than I do, and his suits fit him the way they're supposed to.

Let me see if understand this...

Dummie criticizing someone about the fit of the suit. Dummie probably doesn't own a suit* and if it does, he/she/it bought it off the rack. I am sure Trump's suits are tailored for his comfort... and not bought off the rack.

Dummie is really reaching on this one.

So, how many of these gay fashion mavens are billionaires running for national office?  What, NONE of them???  Yeah, I thought so.
