back in the early 70's, I was 5 years old - there was an elderly man who used to walk around the block every day in redwood city, ca - he was called the Peanut Man, not sure why, he would sit on the log outside our place - I used to talk to him when I was outside playing....one day he randomly stuffed his hands down my pants....I ran inside and told my dad - I never saw him again....

that was my first sexual assault

then there was my step brother....then there was the boss at my first job...and then the boss at my second job....both which I was 16....both who attempted to kiss me - one did grab at my genitals also....

None were punished (perhaps maybe the peanut man I dont know) - because I was scared, young and didn't understand things the way I do now....

I think there was another copycat thread just like this one, which is par for the course.  Skimming them, one would think there was an epidemic of predators pawing at ugly DUmmie women.  I doubt this very much. 

Nobody ever did this to me.  I have been pinched in the butt, though.  My world didn't fall apart.

I've heard similar stories from women I've known, and all outside the context of this Trump thing. I was actually quite surprised at how often it happens. There are a lot of perverts out there without doubt.
I think what the animals don't get is that no one is excusing Trumps behavior. If he actually DID what he said, this would also be on a completely different level. Whether he has or hasn't, we don't know for certain. We simply see the best of 2 choices... one has outright committed multiple felonies and considers the US citizenry disposable, irritating and stupid. I take offense to that. She has gamed the system, used money and influence to cheat the electorate and deceive them, and used our money and her position for the last 3 decades to enrich herself. It's an outright, blatant abuse of the public trust.
It's clear that this woman has no ethical lines... it all boils down to what she can get by with and how much she can take. That disgusts me even more.

*Edited to add: I heard on the radio this morning that there are now three claiming to have been groped by Trump.  ABC radio national news.  The news announcer did say that all three are Clinton supporters.  My guess is that will go nowhere.

I was investigated for sexual harassment once. I worked for a large company and had a secretary who was late everyday, and missed a lot of work. I chewed her out, a lot. Finally she'd had enough ass chewings and quit without notice.

2 months later my direct line manager came to town to tell me I was cleared. I asked him "of what?"  He said sexual harassment. That chick filed on me!  I was investigated for 2 months without my knowledge. My other employees told them she was hot after me, I didn't recognize it/take the bait, it pissed her off and she quit.

The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth.

All the groping talk isn't a trigger for me, but it does bring back a memory.

In college, I was in an honors organization, the typical kind that gets dressed up in slacks and jackets (or skirts, if the women wanted to do so) and hosts official events. I was at one fundraiser with some big-dollar donors. It was pretty typical for us to get pictures with the donors, so it was no surprise to be asked to pose with the top donor for a picture of the event. In fact, I was pretty enthusiastic about it. I was taller than him, so I didn't particularly think anything when he put his arm around my waist under the jacket. Couple of pictures got taken, and after, he slid his hand down and gave my butt a firm squeeze. I jumped and I'm sure I looked pretty surprised. He just grinned at me and walked off.

I'm paraphrasing the following conversation because it was a long time ago. One of the women in the same organization came up and said "squeezed your ass, didn't he?" I was still surprised and said, "but I'm a GUY!!" She said. "well, welcome to our world." I said, "this happens to y'all?" She said "all the time." I had no idea. And as you've already noticed, because I was young and stupid, I didn't know it happened all that often, and thought it was something that didn't happen to men. And I didn't speak up about it, or go to anyone. Because the guy was a top-dollar donor, and I would have been landed on. And my father was a professor there, and I knew if I made any kind of stink about it, his job could have been in jeopardy. So I just let it go.

I'm not saying it's an equivalent experience to the kind of sexism that women face. At all. I don't have to deal with all the day-to-day slights and hurdles that women have to. It was a one-time thing, and it wasn't even my genitalia that got grabbed. But I have had one small experience with having someone put their hands on me in a way that I didn't want, and feeling completely powerless to do anything about it.

I know it's a common thing for you. Sometimes I wonder how y'all even keep your sanity.
