Hurricane Matthew and My Home
« on: October 06, 2016, 05:05:24 PM »
Fort Lauderdale ...

The home where I was born.
(I am safe in Virginia but some of my loved ones are still there)

Web cams from various places along Lauderdale beach.

I grabbed a screenshot of the beach before nightfall and just hours before hurricane Matthew hits!

I'm glad you're out of harm's way, but if you got family and friends down there, I hope they know what they're doing.

I'm disappointed there aren't at least a couple of nuts on surfboards as these storms usually attract a few.

I've been guilty of this.  What's weird here in eastern North Carolina is we have a nor'easter right now and waiting for a hurricane.  Very odd.

We toughed out every storm since the 1950's ... including Andrew.

LOL

I understand the thrill, but my concern with the strong undertows would never permit me to take that kind of chance. Glad you lived to tell about it.
